Hello Stuart family from Nova Scotia! This Mama and my 7 kids live near a small town called Windsor. The plaid on your mug is our provincial tartan, a lot of our culture (and even our mild accent 😉) reflects the large number of Scottish and Irish people who settled here. The landscape here reminded those sellers of home, especially on the north eastern Island part of our province (called Cape Breton Island.) Our original inhabitants are the Mi'kmaq people, whose culture also is felt strongly around our province. Our weather is quite mild because of the ocean that surrounds us, we fit into hardiness zones 5-7, not quite Virginia warm, but warmer than you'd think.

When I saw the paper towel holder I thought how pretty she is. It is sad to think no one likes her. I'm silly about things like that. Handmade items are so special to me. When you picked it up to buy it, it made me love you even more. The afghans are nice.

My dad still has those pie pans. They were used as I was growing up and I'm 50 now. He got a few and made pies and gave them away so the people had the recipe in the bottom of the pan when they finished eating. Made a really nice surprise gift.

I found the Lemon Icebox Pie pie plate just like your apple pie one buried in my grandmother's garage. We moved a lot of her kitchen items back there while cleaning out her house after Hurricane Katrina (17 years before!!) and most of it never moved back in. I found it wrapped in a box while cleaning out her house when she passed away. Every year for my dad's bday, she made lemon icebox pie so it makes me so happy to have that pie plate to carry on the tradition now. Didn't know there were other designs!

That Clay baker bottom should have a clay top to go with it, they are German , you soak the in water before you use them, clean them with baking soda because they are porous . meat comes out real tender in them

I love thrift stores so much fun to find different treasures and deals! I have that bless our nest sign in my dining room! We got it in an Amish type place while on vacation! Was so funny to see you buy it! I knew you were going to buy that Goose paper towel holder it screamed you! Make way for ducklings is a childhood favorite of mine! I have that Courrier and Ives decorative tin plate as well! It kind of reminds me of our home, built in 1876. When I see scenes like that in artwork I think, "Take me back!" So instead I am trying to replicate these times. Living simply and getting connected to the land. 😊

I love to thrift! I have bought brand new capris with the tags still on for 1.50 and 2.00. I found cute summer blouses to wear with them. I wear them to work. I absolutely love thrifting and I was drooling over so many things. Unfortunately we are downsizing so I don't even go near those stores at the moment. Loved the pie plates, Currier and Ives platter and ok I loved it all. I would be writing 15 sentences to tell you all that I loved. Anyway, I love the idea for the pinecone art. I like the pinecone picture; very creative. My parents used to make gorgeous wreaths out of the large pinecones from their property. Those Hess trucks when brand new aren't cheap!. Nice thrift stores you were in with lots of variety. Once (many years ago) my husband & I were in an AmVets thrift store & I saw a stack of my Pfaltzgraff pottery dishes & my pattern had been discontinued. I made him put EVERYTHING back he had picked up & I bought ever dish they had in my pattern, back then about $30 for the lot. But, now at the discontinued site online ONE dinner plate is as much as $21. Through the years my sons have given me pieces they found in thrift stores. Sometimes, people don't realize the value of items they donate. But, a great find for us. Lol. 😆

I was laughing when you said Travis can only handle two BINGO cards. My mom and I took my husband to real BINGO. Her and I each had 12 cards and he could only do 3. My mom was 80 years old at the time.

We have several used puzzle books like this. They are great. Reading while they put it together. Put together and help identify the pieces on their body, with crayola water mark they mark each others body.

"Back in the day" those apple pie plates were given out as gifts when you opened a Christmas Club at the bank. There were pumpkin pie plates too. I still have one of the pumpkin pie ones. They are a nice size, too.

What a nice thrift store! Ours don’t seem to have much a turn over or selection and the things they do have aren’t clean but are priced based on eBay asking prices. I need to find some new places to shop!

Be sure to soak the clay baking dish in water to keep it from breaking when you use it and no that’s not the correct lid but it’ll work! So much fun to go thrifting.
