Your comments about the quality of thrift stores is so interesting- I was just saying the same thing last time I went thrifting here in Los Angeles. I was trying to show my 18 yr old daughter how fun thrifting is. I used to love it when I was a teenager in the 1980’s. It’s just not fun anymore, there are no gems. It’s just blah used clothing. However I recently got back from Japan and did some thrifting and it was very well curated and inexpensive.

i’m so happy and grateful for my past self thrifting a lot of quality vintage denim, skirts, sweaters jackets etc even if it didn’t fit me coz i was GON LOSE THE WEIGHT. if i had passed those up i’d literally be left with scraps!? you cannot find nearly as great quality thrifted pieces in thrift stores these days and i’m in idaho 😵‍💫 so it’s not like i have an amazing unique multicultural community contributing to our thrift stores. but u know what a lot of gold pieces we want to find are in estate sales or just sitting at ppls homes undiscovered. i just got a few great pieces from my dad coz they were packed away while he was overseas. like these pieces are somewhere on this earth!

Great pieces! For the pants that are super big: if they have that clip closure instead of a button, bring the clip over as if you are fastening, but hook on on the belt loop. This will give pants the criss cross effect in the front. You could also put a safety pin vertically through the waist from the inside to out and back in, then clip the hook closure into that. Hope it makes sense!

coming from a buy/sell/trade buyer in 2023. it’s super hard to curate a great selection of clothes at these stores because of the resell/vintage market online. everyone is a depop girlie or a grailed person or Japanese mecari. we’re competing with them and we have to keep in mind that people have SO many other places to go find secondhand goods so when it comes to pricing it’s really what we see “our” customers purchasing not exactly matching retail prices or even the resell value of the item. also everyone’s idea of vintage vs retro is so skewed. which is also how prices become inconsistent.

OMG don't give up on the pants at 22:40. You can style them lower down, (almost hip length) OR take them to the tailors and have them cropped into shorts, you can then rock them as paperbag shorts 🤞🏾 Also that orange bomber is SO good!

Freeze the clothes. Put them in a plastic bag in your freezer for 4+ days and the risk is mitigated. Then just clean them professionally or thoroughly at home. ❤
