This was such a dope video , I love going to Swapmeets since a kid in Socal so seeing how Japan gets down is sick. I know there’s a special flea that’s by the coast in Japan they showcase old motorcycles & Americana stuff like that

Thanks! I use a Contax G2. One of the best film cameras in my humble opinion. Kodak Portra 400 is always a great film stock too 🎞🥸👌🏽

Are you able to bargain and do some stalls have plastic bags if you buy something?

you can bargain a bit, particularly with younger sellers. it can also be a challenge as not everyone speaks english. and yes, they can provide you with a small bag when you buy something. but best to bring your own just in case!

Never been in the winter, but I do know they cancel it if the weather is bad, like if it's raining.

Just curious but do you both speak Japanese? And did you see/hear anyone haggling at the flea market? I feel it may be impolite to do so due to their culture. Looking forward to more of your Japan vids!

We can speak basic Japanese. Haggling is actually okay sometimes but in our experience, the older Japanese do not like it. The younger Japanese will even show you their calculator so you can understand the price. Haggling is also more successful towards the end of the day. Thanks so much for watching!

The flea market is a weekend-only pop-up. Look for Tokyo City Flea Market 大井競馬場フリーマーケット on Google Maps. 9 am to 2 pm only. Prices are flea prices so it's a lot cheaper than curated vintage shops in Tokyo. Prices can be similar to US. Really depends where you go. The more curated the store, the higher the price. Enjoy Japan :)

Thank you. It takes a casual, friendly effort to film vendors. There's a mutual understanding that we're promoting them and the local scene 😊✌🏽

Yes we ask if it's okay to take a video. At this market, we were not declined but in other cases if someone says they do not want to be on video, we do not include them.
