I think something to note is that in *our* day (I was born the same year as her, putting us in our early 30s) if you were genuinely "preppy" you would not be caught dead in black or converse. I'm not sure what era you were in highschool of course, so maybe it differs place to place- but when I think of the preppy girls in highschool in like '04 when that was *the vibe*, it was all pastel and super saturated colours, collared shirts, and skirts. Converse was reserved for the scene kids, running shoes for the jocks, skate shoes for everyone else. So to us, this is absolutely an edgy version of preppy, but not by today's standards :)

ALSO something I just thought of- I also feel like those of us who grew up in that time, oversized clothes now automatically read "edgy" to us to a certain extent. Oversized clothes were just really not the trend when we were teenagers, and if anyone wore them, it probably was the edgier grungier skater kids. Preppy just does not associate in my mind with oversized *at all* , so that's also a factor that in our eyes "edges" it up a bit.

I wore a bubblegum pink dress for a wedding it was so cute with a heart cut out in the back. I would say that was definitely barbie but unintentional. my friend also wore a bubble pink dress 🤣💕 love it! We so looked like we tried to match hehe. I love the edgy look I got a rugby cropped top bit like Mads from Zara so cute and comfy with skinny jeans and cap. It’s like look at me hehe. I love sparkle but mostly for nights out and Christmas/New Years eve. Your drift stores look so much better than ours, I think you did great

Well, this should be fun and sustainable purchase and since it at a secondhand store you might have a better time looking through more organized racks. Oooo but one thing I forgot how expensive they can be since they purchase their cloths from people. I like the thrifting option at donated goods stores.
