We have the same problem here in Australia. What you call, goodwill, we call the salvos; and it's just crazy what $$$$ they are asking for their goods. The thing is considering they get the stuff for free in the first place; so even if they were selling an item for say a dollar, they are still getting 100% profit, from that item.

Don't forget, Good Will is NOT a Not for Profit. It is for-profit. They say they are not a store who's aim is to sell to poor people but to help handicap people get training and get a job. Look into the head of Good Will. He's making bank on all those donations to his company. I wish I had a company that people gave their stuff to for free that I could turn around and resell it and then hire people in to "Rehabilitate" them, pay them minimum wage and rake in the money.

I usually only pick up VHS tapes at the bins. I have found a bunch of sealed horror stuff that I have made a decent profit on. When I'm buying for 25 cents and selling for 10 bucks I'll do it all day

I still sell VHS on amazon. Mostly sealed, fitness or obscure titles. Picked up 5 or 6 WWF wrestling tapes yesterday. I try to stay under 200k.

18:45 Those holes are normally empty. They were used to mount accessories like an external LCD (similar to the one for the PSone). What I look for on the slims is wear marks on the ribbon cable coming off of the laser assembly.

I really like going to different goodwills you never know what you’re going to find last week I found 6 small bags with about 15-20 hot wheels cars for 4$ a bag and most of the cars are from the 90s and found some from late 80s

This is so cool. My wife and I actually visited this Goodwill while we were on vacation a few years ago. (Couldn't help but try to see what a rich area's version looked like.) They had a selection of fur coats with one being priced over $1,000 in that case by the front. My wife ended up getting a knock-off Chanel purse for a pretty good price and we got a few kids books... but left pretty shell-shocked over the prices they were charging. Still love being able to say I've seen something priced at four-figures in a Goodwill though :)

Drumset in a garage, or similar storage space ... loves high pressure, compressed air, preferably from an air compressor and an air nozzle ... not one of those pressurized cans for computer cleaning. Although, they'd work, to a smaller degree and multiple can process ... I suppose. Easiest way to blast the dust and cobwebs off, when home. Also, the store can do their best work ... to half ass clean the immediate garbage off. Just have to ask politely. Thanks for sharing.

Be careful about that Potato Clock 4M toy, it doesn't look like there is a plastic wrap on it which would mean its not new. I find and sell 4M toys a lot and they always are factory sealed in plastic wrap when new.

They started to grade unopened VHS tapes and they can go for really good money now.......BOLO they still go for 50 cents in most locations. You can get good money on Ebay for ungraded tapes in grade worth condition of key movies.

I don’t buy anything at goodwill. I raid there dumpster instead. They unload the whole store pretty much everyday. They are the most wasteful place I have ever seen. They don’t help they are out to make money. I do not shop or donate there ever.

I bought about 250 CDs recently at a yard sale and was able to list about 50 of them since they weren't scratched up. Thinking about getting a jfj easy pro myself but I'm still not sure about getting one. I pickup CDs pretty regularly so it would be useful but I'd like to know the average cost per use if anyone who has a jfj ever did the math on it. There's a thrift store I used to go to. Today I finally blew up at them. When I found a PS2 game. Ratchet & Clank for $20😨 and I lost it. Other games are going for $10 eight dollars they're not even worth it on eBay or Amazon so.I'm done with them they're called new to you. I'm going to expose them for her freaking greedy people they are they make me sick!. I used to enjoy going there now the Hunt is becoming Slim. Oh well my house is filled with treasure.
