I dont understand how some people think putting the boyfriend/girlfriend label on a relationship is childish or juvenile? that's literally how you make it official that you're together? how do you expect the other person to take the relationship seriously if you dont sit down and talk and say "hey, I feel this is a serious relationship, I have serious feelings for you, let's do this together."

@ShariSez1 I'm in my 30s and personally I don't find the title to be juvenile, but it's less about the literal title and more about an anxiety or lack of willingness to discuss where things stand. In the video Cassie said that they hadn't made things 'official' and expressed that she didn't want to put pressure on things by asking him about exclusivity. I'm not saying that that needs to happen a mere 6 dates in and I''m not saying that there's a need to literally call someone your boyfriend/girlfriend/partner (though neither do I find such labels childish), I'm just saying that it's perfectly adult (and healthy) to have a clear and frank discussion about where the relationship is at/headed. And yes, some people do feel more comfortable slapping an label on it, and that's okay too.

I don't think that relationship labels are a middle/high school thing at all...I think that non-relationship labels are a 21st century thing that frankly I find annoying as hell. If you want to be exclusively in a relationship with someone, then how the hell else is everyone gonna know unless you say that's what you want? I miss the 90's more and more. Where people weren't so hellbent on labels in everything *but* relationships (when it counts).

At my apt complex they actually make you sign a whole other addendum to your lease promising to report any mold because it can not only be a health hazard for you, but the other residents in the building. Don’t feel bad about reporting an issue!!

Cassie, please don’t let it go. Both my boys and I have immune deficiency because we owned a home with black mold lived in it for 8 years and we lost everything we owned because of mold spores. My boys are 21 and 24 now but for 19 years they have been doing infusions because we didn’t know it was our home. My youngest started at 2 years old. Please please don’t let them take their time. Side note you look so happy.

I think it's a mature and adult thing to have a conversation about where you both are at with the relationship and see things going. You don't have to ask someone to be your boyfriend, but should be able to ask where you stand. It would be immature to avoid having adult conversations about what you're feeling. Otherwise you will feel insecure for nothing and it would stop your relationship from growing.

Cassie I once lived in a building that only had a teeny whiff of mustiness in it from time to time, and a teeny little black hole in the living room ceiling over my coffee table. I figured for a whole year "eh, it's just an old building". One morning I woke up to find that hole had suddenly developed a 10-inch wide, sagging "bag" of ceiling around it full of God-knows-what. When I came home that afternoon from work, my entire living room ceiling had collapsed, covering everything in the room in sopping wet, black mold. We left, called the city and reported it, and by the next week, we found out the building had been condemned 2 years prior, and our inhuman landlord had rented us the apartment anyway. You remind all of us to love ourselves. Love yourself. Report the mold if the complex doesn't move on it and fast. Greedy landlords and mold issues are very real.

It’s kinda weird to me that’s this whole mold thing is that big of an issue? You can talk to management without it being confrontational. They’re a management company for a reason, they are expecting to have to upkeep a building and property and living in a cold and wet environment its a given that mold may show up. It’s really not that big of a deal, just go to them and be like “I think something may be going on in my closet with mold. I’m smelling a mildewy scent and haven’t been feeling great lately. If you could get someone to check it out that would be much appreciated!” And bam, done. It also could be spreading to other tenants too so really not speaking up is doing a disservice not only to the management’s knowledge, but possibly to other tenants’ health too.

K K it’s subjective. Not all landlords or management companies are the same. I never said it’s not something to look forward to, but I don’t think it needs to be made into a thing where it’s such a big deal to have to initiate conversation. I’m unsure of MN laws but more than likely, they’ll try to help solve it because it becomes a liability when it involves the health and well-being of the tenant and she could take legal action if it doesn’t get fixed.

K K she said she’s not afraid of confrontation though, it just makes her uncomfortable as it makes the majority of people. That’s natural. And many people (myself included) have clinical depression and anxiety, so that’s not a valid statement. All I’m getting at is that you can open a conversation with people to get things resolved without it ever becoming negative and that maybe she should try to approach it that way so both sides can benefit and work together. The way she’s saying it makes it seem like there is only a negative outcome possible, which isn’t true. Just giving suggestions to help her find a positive way to approach it to resolve it peacefully.

There’s definitely a difference between complaining and “working with” a landlord to come to a solution for all parties. If you frame it around politely asking how they plan to resolve it, it’s less confrontational that just complaining. That said, know your rights before you get too far into it, so you can take care of yourself. I’m glad you get to enjoy Valentines Day with someone this year. It’s a nice feeling, even if it is a commercial holiday.

I went to Manchaster for the day. I started a little valentine's day tradition last year. Visiting UK cities for the day. Even if I meet someone, it's a fun thing to do. My neighbour's have a one year old Springer spaniel and he howls and cries all the time. I just feel so sorry for him. Honestly, I was in your shoes before. When it came to dating, I would get so wrapped up in guys who wouldn’t want to put labels on things and who just wanted to have fun. I started conforming to that because, no matter how much I wanted to have “that talk”, I thought it was just how things were these days. I want to say that the right guy for you won’t be afraid to have that conversation. In fact, he’ll be the one to bring it up because he wants to make sure that he’s the guy that gets to end up with you at the end of the day. Conchromium! Use it to spray on the mold areas and it’ll help subside the issue and help your health until the major issue is taken care of! We use it in the residential facilities I oversee until we mitigate if the issue is larger. It’s great for bathrooms as well just humidity build up.

Cassie, I’m a drywall finisher and I see mold issues due to water damage all the time! You don’t always see mold. It very likely is hidden inside the walls and ceiling. If the insulation got wet that can be filled with mold too!! Mold can seriously harm your health as well as your cats!!! Please don’t worry about being “that tenant!” Your health is very important 💗. I don’t mean to sound pushy, but mold isn’t something to take lightly. Please say something to management ASAP! Lots of love!

My friend and I celebrated galentines after work at noon 😝with mexican food and drowned our sorrows in margaritas (rough times at work). I then went home and my husband, daughter and I had a cheese pizza for dinner. Really lived it up lol, I’m not one for valentines or holidays in general, just like to make it special for our daughter. She got a Valentine’s Day gift of candy, a bear and an LOL surprise. I've been in a relationship for 4 years and we have never given a shit about valentines. I don't like gifts that feel forced. He sent me a sweet text while he was at work and we played video games and had chipotle. and that was more than enough. The only perk is half price candy the next day. This was the best Valentines Day I’ve ever had. Started Thursday evening, he walked in from work with a GORGEOUS bouquet of flowers 💐. Then on Valentines Day he surprised me with a new Michael Kors handbag...he knows me so well! Then we had a romantic dinner at home of steak and crab legs. first step! air quality test ..... when we had a small mold issue that’s how we confirmed it. you can go and ask them to pay for it rather than go in and accuse without knowing 100% sure there is mold. if they refuse to do that, I’d just pay the $$ and then if results comes back and it’s not good .... oooo they in trouble.

Mold spores are awful because you can't see what you're breathing in. I literally foreclosed on my brand new condo and took a huge hit to my credit because of mold that the condo association REFUSED to remove. You are NOT being dramatic for wanting it fixed asap. I would recommend getting a free consult with an attorney that specializes in mold or real estate asap. Ask your questions, such as your options. Find out if they liable to pay your moving costs if you choose to break your lease due to the mold or ongoing related issues. Mold is toxic AF- I know I dealt with it too. I had chronic sinus infections, skin rashes, mood changes, breathing issues, horrible headaches, low energy and my hair started falling out too. The final straw was that my cat started getting sick too. Vomiting along with being lethargic all the time. I'm glad you had a nice Valentine's Day, Cassie. ❤

Me and boyfriend of 5 years spent valentines at a hotel in our city and we binged on chinese food and watched movies, it was the best valentine's day we had celebrated! So happy for you glad to see you smiling and giddy ❤❤

GIRL I literally always complain to my apartments. I use to be the same as you- not wanting to deal with it. But now I’m like I pay a lot of money! You can complain nicely- just lay out your stuff. Don’t let no apartment walk on you- I promise the industry is very rude anyways. I worked in it and it SUCKED. they’ll take you to court before they let you out of a lease. Take care of yourself- and ADVOCATE FOR YOURSELF.

my partner and i have 5 kids still living at home ( were a blended family ha ha ) so we just brought some yummy deserts and watched movies together in bed after the kids went to sleep :) sometimes we do something special on a night when we dont have the kids to celebrate each other but were not attached to the day where it causes any issues as were very open with each other if we are or are not doing anything for each other, based on our financial status at the time :) and we dont so supposes in order to not upset or embarrass the other, we decide collectively if we are or are not going to celebrate things. I am glad you had a fantastic night :)

I just want everyone to enjoy a good solid marriage. Good luck to you in this adventure. We didn’t do anything special for VD day. He bought me some Reese’s Pieces, a bag of Cheetos popcorn he wanted to try, cotton candy, and a small Walmart bundle of flowers. I never have a problem with where my flowers come from, I love flowers and I trained him early. Flowers make me feel good. I love Valentine's Day. I know and understand that you should treat your partner amazingly every day of the year, but I think it serves as a good reminder not to take each other for granted. Sometimes you get caught up with the mundane task of daily life and a little reminder never hurt anybody lol. You look beautiful!
