The nostalgia is strong with this! Every level brings back so many great memories I was like 7 when I got this game and my Commodore 64 for Christmas. My parents set it up for me in the corner of my kitchen and I stayed up playing until what felt like the middle of the night on Christmas night (it was probably like 10pm). Many fights with my older brother about who's turn was next. Oh to be a kid again! These video games had a certain charm that just isn't there with modern gaming. Thanks for the upload!

@@InternetSlumlord well I did say that i was kid in my original comment! But I have revisited these old games several times - still play Streets of Rage on my sega. Always loved that era for games, my age is irrelevant. Every year games improved and it got really exciting. Ps1 was just around the corner. Internet as we know it didn’t exist yet, music was amazing, no social media and online bullying. It was a great time era. Don’t get me wrong some of today’s games are amazing - I’m a huge Red Dead Redemption fan. But some of the old games definitely have a charm about them.

This was just the umpteenth example of that tried and tested formula for movie-to-game adaptations by Ocean, actually - look up Batman the Movie, Robocop or The Untouchables, amongst several other examples, all of which came out before this and also took each movie's plot and turned key scenes into individually segments played more or less in the same order than that of the corresponding movie. It was a formula that worked quite well and translated into a number of great games that also sold well, so you couldn't blame 'em for sticking to it.

To be fair, it does look surprisingly decent for what we could've gotten on the Commodore 64, not a masterpiece at all but it at least looks like a fun little way to kill time with a C64 and the characters actually look like they do in the movie. How could it? Amiga was 16bit! But even so, graphically the C64 version looks miles prettier than Amiga version.
@superturbo25 жыл бұрын
No it didn't, far from it. C64 gfx is great for a C64 but still cannot compare to even more basic Amiga gfx.
@ivaerak5 жыл бұрын
@@superturbo2 cmon Amiga version art direction is all over the place. They mix actual video movie cutscenes with cartoonish caricature designed characters, in C64 version everything is wholesome across all sections.
@superturbo25 жыл бұрын
@@ivaerak The amiga gfx might not look that pretty today but back then it was among the best gfx you could get. The c64 gfx may be more polished but the lack of colour and the low resolution made it look old and poor in comparision.
@ivaerak5 жыл бұрын
@@superturbo2 You cannot say 8bit graphics is uglier than 16bit graphics just because of technology. It is about how you USE technology. Example: Last Ninja 2 looks gorgeous on C64 and looks like shit on Amiga. Why? Because person who made graphic art direction for Amiga port had no talent in using the best of what 16bit gfx can deliver. Having a same game on 16bit Amiga and 8bit C64 does not automatically mean the 16bit will look better. Take Stormlord for example. Looks beautiful on C64 and like shit on Amiga. Of course most games on Amiga look better than on C64 because people behind gfx art knew how to actually USE the advanced color palette and sprite density on Amiga. It is like saying all NES games are uglier than N64 games. They are certainly NOT. It comes down to specific art of specific game.
