Those antique papers are so cool. TYFS! Can’t wait to see your finished journal! Hope you can get off the steroid soon. They’re no fun. 😢

Hi Carol! I use Fabri-tac for fabric on covers but it definitely gets too thick if you have it too long. Sorry it’s giving you troubles. ❤ Love the old papers.

Lovely antique invoices and bill heads! Steroids are no fun, my mom has been on and off them ever since her heart surgery, and she always gets shaky. I’m wondering if either your glue was applied too thickly or the fabric was just very thin. Hard too tell without seeing it. I’ve never tried applying fabric straight to a hardcover book, yet. Hope you are having a lovely day ❤

@NewEnglandJunkJournals I'll play again on something that's for me. I came across - serendipity - a video on YT where she was making a cover for her Disney journal. She didnt use fabric on all of the cover. She attached it with that terrifically tacky 2 sided tape and also used a glue gun. So much to learn yet

Very nice papers❤❤😊 Thank you for sharing ❤😊 I am sure your journal is lovely. Have you used Modpodge to glue for the fabric cover? Fabric Tac i use for gluing small pieces of fabric. I use Art Glitter glue, and Scotch glue stick to glue ephemera. I have not done too many journals either. Still learning 😊

@virginiamartin-authorspeaker I have not but I may try that next. Gardens gave me an idea of something to try too. I may just play and do a video showing it. Thx for commenting!

For me the fabric tac glue shows through only certain kinds of fabrics and not others. I’ve seen people cover the glue dry wet looking spots up with lace or trim or wide ribbon. I’ve tried using double sided carpet tape to hold the main rectangle down and the edges I just cover up with trim. If the fabric has glue showing through. Good luck. I’m not overly experienced. But that’s what I’ve done to make it work 👍😁

Even used jewelry or yo-yos or cabochons or laces or photos on cover. I’ve seen people use to cover the glue marks. It happens sometimes. Make lemonaide out of Lemons 🍋 💛

@@GardensandBooks that is exactly what I tried to do - hide the glue marks with trim.

@GardensandBooks i like the idea of double sides tape - I might just play with that and see what happens
