It's totally cool to DNF a book if you're not vibing with it! Put it back on the shelf and try finishing it some other time, sell it, or donate it to the library, Goodwill, or a local nursing home (they love books!), or stick it in someone's Little Free Library for someone else to enjoy. Telling us about books you couldn't finish because you didn't like them, they were too slow, or you weren't in the headspace for them is still valid content - those are valid insights!

Congrats on 5k!!! I am SO happy you enjoyed the first AGGGTM book in the series! I always get nervous when people read it for the first time because it is one of my absolute favourites, and because I’ve never read the american version I don’t know how it translates from the British one. The fact that it was holly’s debut novel too like she is a phenomenal author. Definitely would love to see you continue the other two books, and also five survive! Five survive definitely leans more into thriller and it is soooo good I was on the edge of my seat throughout the whole thing

I need to comment on a specific part of this video, before I forget lol... I also always listen to music while I read, because it helps me a lot to stay focused. I learned the hard way that listening to music was better for studying than total silence (full of possibilities for dreamy minds). Music seems to filter out other distractions. And depending on the playlist, it helps create the perfect reading mood. Once when reading Lord of the Rings I played the soundtrack from the films. It worked very well. ✌️

If you want playlist for your mystery/thrillers just search pov: your a detective or pov: your the final girl they got some really good ones and ill search and play mine on KZbin most of the time because then i cant check things on my phone or the music will stop so ill text someone back then immediately go back to youtube and start reading i find it helps me want to go back and not get stuck in my phone because i have this thing where i cant read and full pay attention and comprehend unless im looking at something hearing something and touching something so when i read im looking and touching the book and having the music in the back it just has to be less distracting music than my normal playlists

Sebastian Fitzek is the king of (psycho)thriller in Germany. Maybe there are books by him that got translated? Or you try Stephen King, he is supposed to be writing good thrillers as well :)
