The player utilities res pack only glows that way for him, because it's in the hardcoded ipbr of the Bliss shader. If anyone knows how to get complementary reimagined to make this mining progress texture glow like in the video, please tell me.

Yes, this is a resource pack so it can be used on Fabric as long as you got Optifine or Iris+Sodium installed

Some resource packs on Iris will require mods like "custom entities models" & "entities texture fixes" sometimes more mods to work properly. For this video, I used the "Fabuosly Optimised" mod pack, which included both those in there, plus some performance mods. So, I did not have any issues with these resource packs

Hey, you can try out glowing armor trims with kappa shaders version 3.x or 4.x, as these used to work with many mods and packs which add bonus lights, effects or transparent stuff like nameplates, ect. (With optifine)

so some of these resource packs don't work for minecraft 1.21.1 snapshot. I tried some and the resource pack told me it was incompatible bc it is supposed to be used for an earlier version of minecraft. is there anything I can do?

Resource packs are mostly compatible forwards and backwards. You can agree to that message and should be able to use the pack fine. If it's an older pack new blocks won't be updated to work, but majority of the time they will work fine.

Question: I am coming back to minecraft after a long time, I am hearing that optifine recent updates are not upto par with other tools, is this true? Most research on the subject is mostly individual threads that are one sided. How did you get the zombies in the Human Era Villagers to look like that? mine looked that that for a while, but then all of a sudden they switched to this other ugly texture when I had to re-add all my resource packs. Did you have to add a modifier/another pack to get it to work/

I did not add any extra packs for my zombies to be like that. If they changed texture after stacking resource packs, maybe try putting it closer to the top so it has priority over the other packs
