So happy to see that this project is still alive after so many years! :)
@FreeaimVR2 сағат бұрын
@@ImaplanetJupiteeeerr Thanks, we've done so many demos over the past couple of years and really improved based on feedback. We could have launched much earlier with a kickstarter etc, but we managed to get some relatively small investments and when we do launch soon, it will be all for the best with us having had more time. It's already very good, and by the time it ships to backers, we think it will be great! We've be working hard to shorten the learning curve to a matter of minutes, improving beginners experience. The VR shoes take a little practice and with short demos (~30mins), we have to create a good impression within that short time. With more time the 'ease of use' and immersive experience greatly improves (you forget about the shoes!) and we're trying to get review units out to more influencers soon.

nah, at this point VR should be way farther than it is currently. They want people to buy it. If it's always changing and upgrading no one will buy it until it's "finished" and at this point VR never will be finished or have a staple point of "hey this is as best as we can do for right now"

Saying that and also hearing today about a leak of Asus ROG HorizonOS headset in development makes things interesting. (Short Context- HorizonOS is the Quest 2/3/3s operating system and Meta made it open source many months ago. It's like how the android operating system is for smartphones.) It's supposed to be Asus doing their own version of the Quest Pro and claims of eye and face tracking along with many features. I worry that because it will be ROG series, it will get their usual RGB lighting treatment.

to be honest, as just the casual consumer the price is the biggest thing stopping me from using vr. 1800 for a vr headset is actual insanity for a price point.
@ianloreen78172 сағат бұрын
That's part of why seeing certain parts like lenses and displays getting standardized excites me. Standardization simplifies manufacturing, which reduces price. It's my hope that, with how much money might be saved this way, more features like eye tracking can be built into a headset for the same price. As a bonus, entry-level headsets without bells and whistles would become much cheaper at the same time.
