@@SuperUsman11 True but that's such a bodge. We really need an affordable, flexible, independent tracking system *cough* Stonx *cough* My point is that the tracking is the difficult and traditionally expensive bit a not insignificant part of the reason "the price gap between the commercial product and the homemade ones [are] just insane". The gloves may be cheap but they're of absolutely no use to someone using Google cardboard or who otherwise doesn't have controllers already. The idea that these gloves are some kind of budget VR control/input solution is highly flawed and that seems to be how they are being sold (of course not literally as they are open source).

But for now, I really want to find a place where I could 3D print stuff for cheap and money for it so I could try out these, that would be awesome, always wanted to feel things in VR, but well, until then, only in my dreams. @Wanye Smith First, because they insanely cheap. The ones you can buy, as shown in the video, costs way too much. Its fun to build, i like to solder and so on. They are ugly? I actually think they are beautiful in its own way. And you arent going to look at them. You are in vr... I dont think they are big enough to ruin the experience.

Of course it's not perfect, of course we know it's big and fragile but it's a proof of concept and it's super super cheap. You probably won't be playing fast paced game, but there are other games than that in VR. And just the feeling of holding an object in VR is amazing. This is not made by a certified company with many engineers, no, it's a fucking glove that you can build by yourself.
