@Kenchan13373 жыл бұрын
@Wanye Smith too big? you can easily argue the $5000 tesla gloves are bigger because of how the force feedback is delivered to the fingers...

I see this project as a great and inexpensive way to not only get people into VR haptic, but the development itself. I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with, and the satisfaction from building it themselves.

"i want to make it less bulky" proceeds to add more wires than my whole gaming setup has. lol but i love the idea and realy want to see how far this goes
@Tkdmaster19913 жыл бұрын
I think that the design can be fine tuned to your hand size to get those wires alot shorter, it's jsut left intentially long now for ease of building and troubleshooting. Also would help to have some sort of cover for the electronics I think, which could also hide all that mess.

For force feedback which could only Happen from cutting the bulk first

There are a few problems I see though like what if u want to make a fist, the joystick will get in the way and u would press the buttons by accident
@cree-meister3 жыл бұрын
Plus when your trying to move around and hold a gun in vr, your thumb will most likely either not be allowed to move that far to the joystick or will glitch into the gun and the whole thing wont work

@UCq3uFeGMNfo5uEU93zI4mhA Man what the fuck who upsetted you that much?? You need some therapy with all the hate you got for this vr creator. Of course it's not perfect, of course we know it's big and fragile but it's a proof of concept and it's super super cheap. You probably won't be playing fast paced game, but there are other games than that in VR. And just the feeling of holding an object in VR is amazing. This is not made by a certified company with many engineers, no, it's a fucking glove that you can build by yourself. Nobody exepect it to work like charm, but if you think you can't have fun with it, just don't build them and shut the fuck up already

It's amazing that you could buy something that works phenomenally for 5000$ or take like a day and make your own for about like 30-50$ (and yes I would love to see more videos like this one) (edit) thanks for all the likes!

prices are really high for new stuff especially when there isnt a standard design yet

Well, not "a day" for your first build 😅 It took me forever to adjust design to my local available parts, fixing issues. Second glove, with my own design, took waaay less time to build

I don't know whether it's awesome or terrifying that we are basically at the level of technology shown in Ready Player One. VR was always such a fascinating niche to me since I watched Jacksepticeye play stuff on the DK1. Actually owning one seemed so far off, but now I have a Quest 2, and it's just as magical as I hoped it would be. I can't wait for the market to be as mainstream as it was in Ready Player One.

I'm a Bachelor of IT student as well and I wish I would've known about this a year ago lol would've bought the parts and attempted it because we actually have to make a raspberry Pi project for one of our units, this would've been perfect xD [that is if this supports any microcontrollers and not just the one shown in the video].

This is absolutely incredible. Since I'm not much of a techie, I think I'll wait until there's an affordable set of haptic gloves I can buy off the shelf, but the future of VR is seeming more fantastic by the day.
