This mail seemed to have it all back in the day. Great stores Saks Hudson's, Lord and Taylor, Gantos, Alvin's, winklemens, restaurants, shoe stores galore like Sundance, candies, bare traps Chandler's, Warmer brothers, specialty stores, a bulk tea and coffee store. boutiques Scott Gregory, icing, an indoor ice skating rink, cinemas. I spent countless hours here if I wasn't working. My mother and I used to go every Saturday and spend all day here, them we'd go to English gardens, westborn, super Kmart, country buffet to energize up to continue shopping at Meijer, Kroger heck sometimes we drive over another mall like Southland or Westland or way over to West Bloomfield. We had so much fun together we walked about 20 miles and time stood still s we'd shop We packed so much into one day. We' d come home about 11 or so at night with groceries and the bargains from our shopping day. Good times nothing like today. My mother has long passed but I have great memories of days gone by.

When, I was working at Hudson's Eastland Mall from 1975 until 1980. I remember when Fairlane Town Center and Lakeside Mall both opened up. I used to go to Fairlane Town Center and Lakeside Mall to go shopping 🛍. The, last time,I was at Fairlane Town Center, the mall was dead. The same way for Lakeside Mall. Fairlane Town Center and Lakeside Mall both opened up in the late 1970's. I still remember the Monorail 🚝that ran from Fairlane Town Center to the Hyatt Hotel 🏨,that was by Fairlane Town Center. I remember seeing the Monorail Cars in a field in the Gratiot and 24 Mile Road in Chesterfield, Michigan years ago. It is surprising that J.C.PENNEY and Macy's are still the anchor stores in the Fairlane Town Center Mall.

Me and my friends used to ride that monorail back and forth from fairlane to the Hyatt for fun haha. In this video You can still see the markings on the floor by the elevators where the wall was glass that would slide shut when the train was in the station there. So many memories, thank you for reminding me :D I wonder if there’s video of the trains on KZbin. I’m going to take a look - maybe I’ll go to the mall later and hang out lol

Actually stayed at the hotel across from the mall a few times over the last 10 years. The hotel, has now been condemned and was ordered closed a few years back. The mall itself was so dead. The parking lot completely empty but for a few cars. Though, I did enjoy the food court. Especially the place with the Coney Island hot dog specials.

Remember the Construction on Fairlane Mall and was a Great Mall in the late 70's and early 80's. The Land use to be the Last of Farm Land in Dearborn.

Fairlane was always the successor Twin of Lakeside Mall. Though I still like them both

I, heard something about the Fairlane Town Center Mall, where the City of Dearborn might be taking the Fairlane Town Center Mall over. And, the old Hyatt Hotel, which was across the parking lot from Fairlane Town Center.

It only got worse after the death of that shoplifter. A: I can't imagine calling this "success". B: The bus stop connecting this mall to the inner city is why I *loathe* UrbanizationTube and their foreign-born mantra of "AmErIcA needs MoAr LiGhT rAiL!"

I remember going to Fairlane Mall as a kid in the 90s the spot used to be jam-packed with folks back then and now that mall can't keep stores in the mall for more than 6 months before closing. Before the pandemic, I stopped going out to Fairlane altogether because of the nasty theater next door. I just read that they just recently closed that theater permanently and it hasn't been renovated since the late 90's.

This mall beats lakeside by a landslide but still has dealt with some closure’s, at least this mall has a lot of its stores inside and restaurants, the former lord and Taylor sat for a very long time surprisingly and former sears is still sitting to this day after almost 4 years, lord and Taylor sat for almost 10 years so I’m surprised they were able to salvage that into ford offices, although not a bad mall, the only thing I have to complain about is the area.

Everyone shops on line or somerset mall. I stopped going there when they started putting a bus line in there for Detroit and the blacks where coming there. My wife and I went to great lakes crossing. Oakland 12 oaks. We even enjoyed the ride Moved from West Dearborn in 2005.

Not sure if you noticed but the blacks have made it to 12 Oaks and rumor is they've been spotted at Great Lakes Crossing too. You'd probably feel more comfortable shopping in Livingston County.

@@viktorakhmedov3442 My friend who lives in livonia told me about 12 oaks she said I couldn't believe the blacks there. I use to to great lakes it's been 2 years that I have been there and there where a lot of blacks then. I shop on line I don't go to malls anymore. I hear there not busy like they use to be but I think the same online shopping. People are going to Walmart, targets, to max and Costco.
