Fairlane Mall - 12/19/23

I've enjoyed Fairlane Towncenter since 1976. It is beautiful and unique. I miss the 2 fountains they use to have. Also, all the restaurants with menus and different types of food. I use to like going to the Warner Brother's Studio Store, and the Disney Store. I truly enjoy the black massage chairs. They are very relaxing. In December 2023, I noticed many of the Christmas decorations were not put up. I missed the very large Christmas tree with big colored bulbs, the played holiday music. Maybe they didn't have enough help last season to put all those decorations up. I still got a nice picture of Santa. I hope the mall stays open for many more years to come.

Fairlane has, for the most part kept its look, and relatively a good looking place. I am from Detroit, was in management for JC Penney ( store #1166-8) in 1984 and 1985. My wife at the time was in store management for Macys in Toledo. Macys moved us to Atlanta. I ended up working for JC Penney catalog distribution center in Forest Park GA. Michigan memories!!!!!!

6:19 My parents used to take me here when I was a kid, man everytime I went to Fairlane mall after that I got super nostalgic for christmas stuff there. Even seeing it in 720p on a 1440p monitor still evokes strong nostalgia.

Definitely great childhood memories for sure. The whole layout of the mall was so intriguing for me.

As of recently, it was alleged that due to unpaid DTE bills (electricity bills) the future of Fairlane Mall is under discussion as to what is next. People were telling me it is closed down permanently but I have a hard time believing that.

I use to take the bus from inkster to this mall I use to also go to the Westland mall and the wonderland mall
