Dying already indicates that you're at a disadvantage, giving up an item each time you die just compounds it and makes each death flow into each other. Not sure what alternative could be reasonably done, but given the astronomical advantage the hunters have with being able to see you the whole time and their raw numbers advantage, you had no chance once they started getting weapons approximately equal to yours. This existing start is very swingy, either you stack early buffs using the picksaw and get a massive early gear advantage that lets you breeze through the game while the hunters struggle to catch up, or you don't get an early edge and once Picksaw falls off as a weapon you get crushed over and over. One option that could work is to start with a weaker, but still strong pickaxe like the bone pickaxe, and in return every time you die you get to pick an item to get that would have been obtainable for you had you killed the "next boss" in progression, or an optional boss that's reasonable for that point in progression. This would probably need some restraint? Beating EoW with this rule would be enough to get Night's Edge, but depending on how charitable you feel you might want to stick with uncrafted items like Muramasa so you still have to get the other resources involved.

@@samuelbarros1563 idk there's things they can do. for one the bosses and biomes are pretty fixed so his actions being dictated in chat would give a lot away. It'd limit his progression AND theirs but they'd just prefer letting him activate things so they can find him. otherwise it was REALLY busted letting them constantly see his location as they'd be able to track him down constantly and not need to really worry about searching. "oh it'd dungeon oh he's at spawn, oh hiding in that cave is pointless as they can just see themselves on his stream" it's dumb and makes it WAY too one sided

@@taylorbesharah8but it’s extremely unbalanced because the hunters can just follow you no matter what, and if one catches up to you, everyone else would wormhole to that guy. Beating the game in 10 lives with lots of people constantly following you no matter what you do was never a reasonable challenge. Besides, many people have done manhunts without the ability to steam snipe, and you can tell that it’s more balanced then, with the runner being able to hide, but due to the confines of a terraria world, the hunters would eventually find the runner.

I think that you could easily win by making a molten set and molten fury in first 15-20 min, because you have powerful pickaxe. Hunters wouldn't be able to survive in hardmode and you got huge advantage

My 2 cents: This is definitely a fun concept, but I think the rules can be tweaked a bit more. After the fail at making the Night's Edge, the video just sort of became a chore to watch. In this sort of deal, I think the majority of the watchers are rooting for you to win over the insurmountable odds that is 10's of people hunting you down, but with that crippling rule of your viewers getting rid of an item after each death, it just really threw you into a death loop that you couldn't escape from, and there wasn't a lot of satisfaction aside from your commentary (Which is good and engaging) There might not be a "solution" because if you hit a certain level, then you just steamroll the viewers, so maybe it was fine... but I dunno, just left me wanting more.

Cool concept but I think your innate advantage falls off way too fast for this exact execution to work. Something like starting with wings would go crazy, you could spend all of pre-hardmode in more safety and start to really be in danger when hardmode hits and everybody else has wings. That or getting a free random tp per life or something. As is you accessory diff did not last very long.

You did a good job at evading hunters but should have progressed faster to keep the gap between you and the hunters. As the runner I’d quickly mine and equip hellstone, move in the guide, and beat WoF so that the hunters would be too weak to progress while you begin hardmode. Offense is the best defense 😈
