A couple of things I didn't hear mentioned...The purple blobs that show up represent ARMY. It starts with just a few, lifting RM out of the depths. The number increases and eventually becomes a whale that lifts them to the sky. They come apart and represent a stadium full of ARMY bombs. Also, the logo at the end is the ARMY logo rather than the BTS logo. It opens up as if leading them to "heaven ".

Still after 4 years this song still makes me tear up. There is A LOT of context in this MV, almost too much to list. Each vignette depicts a hardship from a specific era, and the illustrations are scenes from music videos from each era. RM's verse always makes me cry. He mentions the ridicule they faced surrounding the name of the group, and triumphantly delcares that its meaning is now forged in iron: BULETPROOF. In Yoongi's vignette he is clutching his shoulder, a reference to the motorbike accident that almost ended his chance to become a member. There is a scene when a black wave crashes over Jungkook. This is a reference to the Black Ocean Incident. There was a time in the past when ARMY were not the biggest crowd in award show audiences. One time fans of all the other groups turned off their light sticks when BTS performed, which is called a black ocean. It's to show disrespect for that group. Fandoms no longer do this, but it happened twice in the early career of BTS. The scene of them sitting around a fire that ends with a whale carrying them off alludes to the idea of finding an ocean in the desert that runs throughout their entire discography. The whale is also a common metaphor in Korean culture for being at the top of one's game - an apex creature. So much to talk about in this amazing MV!

I am 73. My pre-teen and teen years were set to the music of Beach Biys, Beatles, Motown, Stone's and continued to love music even into my adulthood, middle age. I NEVER experienced a band that showed their devotion and gratitude to their fans as BTS has. Western media cannot understand BTS can have such an engaged, devoted fan base, I say, I don't know if any band that loved their fans more than BTS. This sing is only one of the sings written about their relationship to ARMY.

This one never fails to make me emotional. The struggles they went through and still are going through are so real. We army resonate with them, we feel hurt whenever they are hurt, we want to do everything to make them know that we will always stand beside them through thick and thin. I just love the boys.

This song makes me cry every time. I had a really difficult time growing up - I nearly lost my life to bullying when I was about 17. One of the core reasons why I was drawn to bangtan is because they understand exactly what it’s like to have the whole world against you. The lyric, “throw a stone at me, you can’t hurt me any more. We are, together, bulletproof” is so so special. Namjoon and Yoongi have talked openly about their struggles with mental health and thoughts of ending their lives, especially in the beginning of their careers when they faced so much discrimination and hate. I really recommend you watch the BTS hardships video on KZbin, because that information gives SO much context to their lyrics and overall story. It is the reason why Namjoon especially refers to ARMY as his “miracle”. When everything is crashing down, Bangtan and Army live for each other. Together, we are enough.💜

Great job Saya and Brigitte! Always supportive of Army. It’s interesting to revisit the entire album and rediscover gems I haven’t listen to in a while. There is so much content available, this channel gives me a chance to circle back with like minded folks and re-experience and sometimes first experience BTS material with Richard and Johnny. It would be great if we could have a reaction of IU and V’s MV for Love Wins All, V’s duet with IU ending Scene, and add in V’s new MV for Fri(end)s. I think Richard will cry over IU’s vocals and Johnny will love the composition of the song Love Wins All.

Fun fact: if you go back to butter and go to joonie's verse from the start until the "got armys right behind us when we say so" line, you'll hear the synth(?) in the background that sounds like the sped up version of the aaah's they sang before the line "we were only seven" in WAB:Eternal (I don't know the right terms omg but i wanted to share these little sprinkles of genius that they put in their songs that makes them special, i hope u get it 😭😭😭 and if possible, someone word this better lol)

Hi guys! This song was what made me an ARMY. The first time I saw, and watched this, I literally cried without any context.. the lyrics alone touched me. Then I've watched an explanation video about this and I bawled my eyes out... this is a very beautiful, touching song. It is still on my Top 3 favorite BTS Song of ALL TIME 💜🫶 Just to give you an additional context about the MV, the last clip/scene is "Boy with Luv" released on 2019. If I'm not mistaken this was the year that they finally "fully" enjoyed their fame & popularity unlike the last years (2016-2018 was their hardest years including of course their debut days from 2013 to 2015). That's why it was the "last" one they showed on the MV, repreeenting that - at the end of every tunnel there is light.

This was such a wonderful dive into the album 👏🏽 Thank you all as always for taking your time to do this! Richard and Johnny, it gave me chills seeing y’all closing your eyes and just escaping into the music of this one. This is one of my Top 5 favorite group songs of theirs and I have always thought it was one of the best produced ones (of many!) so I was curious what you’d think - and your reaction is exactly what I thought it would be, even better! There’s such beautiful push and pull in this song; Melodies that hang and hold to the heart before resolving like a breath of relief. High notes that feel like them crying aloud in painful memories, but like crying out to someone (ARMY) who they know will hear and comfort them. It’s an anthem of victory and a promise on both ends to keep going through the storm together. My favorite line is “tell me why you’re still walking with us?” - it encompasses BTS’ humility, that they still can’t comprehend why we still stand by them after all this time and after all the tribulations. It really feels like BTS was crying with us in this song. 💜 I agree w the lovely ladies that you gotta return to this someday in the future when you’ve seen all their music videos. There’s some powerful visuals there that really illustrate the journey and how far we’ve ventured with them. Not sure what’s next but I also wanted to say if you love this kind of push and pull melody from them, I think you will enjoy one of their Japanese songs “Crystal Snow”. Also, “Butterfly” 💕

This is in my top 5 fav BTS songs. Everytime I hear it I cry. Especially during this time when they are serving. It came out during the pandemic which made it emotional back then. This song is so packed with emotion. When I think of all the things these 7 boys went through (and just... Everyone in the world honestly) my heart aches. Jimin has gotten death threats, all members have gotten so much hate and slander, jk and suga had mental breakdowns, and they've all suffered a lot both before fame and after fame too. We can't escape suffering in this world and yet we can hopefully build resilience and keep strong in hope and faith and in loving others.

Thank you sooo much for uploading all the songs again. I know that’s more work than usual but soo appreciated. I get to deep dive into lyrics again. Or listen to songs I didn’t fall in love with but now have a deeper appreciation of its place in their album’s journey. This song means so much to ARMY. We know their journey and only part of their struggles because their pain goes much deeper than can be expressed to us. But through it all, they pushed forward for their dream and to make a difference in our lives. So we do the same and take strength from their example. The love is mutual. One of my favorite songs for the vocals, lyrics, beats, unity, meaning.

The melody in the verse at the beginning of this song that repeats in other parts of the song - if you listen closely you can hear the same melody in Butter as a repeating synth riff right when RM does his rap about army being right behind them 😭

So a thought that I had is to maybe do something like check out a movie video, dance practice and live version of a song. I thought you might find it interesting to see your take on all three. I suggest like Fake Love or Blood, Sweat, and Tears ( don’t know if you did those yet) but the videos for these are really amazing, watching the dance practice really shows you just how talented they are as dancers, which can be hard to see the complete choreography in the live performances and MVs, and I always think that they are just so mesmerizing when performing live..
