Suggestion for a new mod: I hope we can get a new (bigger) mod like “Defense of Cyrangar” (in Diablo Immortal) in the future. A higher level of cooperation of 16 players (4x4) to defend a hill or a pyramid from being attacked from all four sides. So that the progress of the demons is of different intensity, which would require some players to leave their positions and go to help the weaker ones. Ordinary soldiers (bots) would hold back the onslaught of demons instead of barricades. All over the map, flags would be placed instead of towers. Defenders (bots in cordons with space between them for heroes to pass through) emerge from inside a structure (corridors in a pyramid or tunnels in a hill) to defend the positions (hold the advance) until the flag falls. Where the demons push hard, the heroes have to retreat to a higher position (there would be 4 + 1 levels). When help arrives, the position can be reversed and the flag re-established (bots come out again). Players would have to monitor the situation on the map (and to use portals to move to remote freed/safe platforms). The demons would announce their advance with a trumpet. At the end, all 16 players are on the highest flat platform with the last double flag in the middle (no more bots there). Weak heroes should last at least 30 minutes, while strong ones should last more than an hour… Also, it would be nice if we could get legendary gear for wizard, mount animals (skill instead of teleport or some other). Unicorn (white with a little purple) as the base variant. That animal would be different depending on the environment in which the hero is (zone). Camel for desert, polar bear for snow, deer for forest, tiger in the jungle… Replaces primary attack. This skill, when activated again, can start a mini stampede with a small elephant at the head, for a few seconds (call of the wild zoo). He can randomly ride a small elephant, a huge panther, a zebra, a lion, an ostrich, a huge wolf, a brown bear, and so on. I played on KR with 250ms, the game is playable with high ping dont worry about that. Combat is a nice mix where its not too slow and not too fast, something like Archeage or maybe even Lineage 2. I like Lost Arks combat, but thats just me.

I also played a lot of lost ark before but for some reason I got burned out more than BDO's grinding in circles loop.. though to be fair Lost Ark has a top notch campaign mode and you can tell they put a lot of work on it.

I'm an old school MMORPG player, I'm past my 30s but I have an open mind towards new and modern games that try to make a mark in the genre and risk it even if it fails. If more people gave that mindset a try and not linger on the old games, the gaming industry would be much better and healthy. Its not like WoW and FF14 will go anywhere, you can always go back to it if you don't like TL. But having a F2P modern day MMORPG it literally doesn't cost you anything then few hours of your time to try it, instead hating on the game without even trying it.

I think this could be a very nice MMORPG, but only time will tell. The basis for the game seems nice. I think, even when you compare this game to Ashes of Creation, Ashes of Creation still has a long way to go to optimize their game. You talk about some "NCSoft was able to a certain extent to blend and develop some of these things", can you give us a couple of examples? The only thing so far are the massive sieges. those are somewhat comparible to the size of GW2, but anything else, I don't know anything about. Like the crafting system in the game, combat (from what I've seen isn't very comparible to BDO in the slightest), the raids/dungeons comparison etc. I'm very curious about that!

Seamless open world and massive sieges are the main thing of TL. If they can make gear progression better and introduce quality crafting and gathering system im sure the game would appeal to much much wider audience. The main problem was that the game was developed to PVP and GVG game, but after release they realized that PVE is the way too go, so they are shifting towards that. The new T2 dungeons are fairly hard compared to T1 ones and mechanically look a lot like WoW raids. Equalized arenas, battlegrounds, realm vs realm pvp battles are also coming. So a mix of different MMORPGs blended into one game. You don't have daily quests that are mandatory and dynamic events actually are packed with players, which I haven't really see any MMORPG do quite right.

@@nx3816 synergies are countering eachother. Longbow is long range, static, no moving build, while xbow is fast paced, medium range and constant moving. So it won't work too well. For max damage dagger is the best secondary

The thing with this game also is, it was reported that NCSoft lost money with it's launch in Korea. And they are literally expecting Global version to make them money. Which means, if it flops, it's a guarantee that the game will be shut down.

This game Is not for korean peoples. No 24/7 grind. You can Just play 2/3 hours and be competitive. You can pay 3k dollars to buy your Gear and go pvp alone and then a group of f2p player full Blue can smash your ass.

Exactly my thoughts. Although games are shitty these days, the audience that played in the golden era are now in their 50s, 40s, 30s the least. Most of us got IRL stuff that matter and having to spend time on games that doesn't: make money, connect with your loved ones; feels frustrating admit it or not. We want our careless and free life back we had 20 years ago, and we tend to blame games for not having that feeling anymore. But in fact, we just changed. Thats the problem today. Its same in every other genre. FPS, BR, Strategy. Occasionally you see new game come through but it dies off after few months. Having a dedicated hardcore playerbase of 40-50k will be a huge success for any new MMORPG

i do miss the oldschool mmorpg's from the years 2000's ( im 32 ) like silkroad online which i played the most. its hard to find a mmo that gives that oldschool vibe and waste time in. I hope Throne and liberty and ashes of creations give that kind of feeling, but i doubt it.

I've played LineageII for about 5000h total, and finally NC has made something to enjoy again. It's also surprising how in L2 it took years to get to max lvl and here it's just 5 days with a little grind.

Yes unfortunately another example of gamers not knowing what they want and complaining until it kills the games. Complaining about grind so now we level by spamming F solo 'story quest' and get 50 in a day. MMORPGs are fundamentally broken because they have this concept that the game begins at max level, why do we even make the player level? It useto be so good on lineage 2 slowly earning your progress by teaming up with party/clans and fighting harder open world dungeons etc. While getting into pvps along the way at any level, low level pvp was so fun! Was excited to see they had open world dungeons and mass pvp like sieges, but the lack of races/classes kills the game for me. No supports, no summoners, no bards, only one tacked on wand with basic heals. Weapons = classes will never work because u cant have a fleshed out class like a summoner with only 8 abilities. A party of 6 has like 4 archers all doing the same spells, its pretty meh, could they not have at least added races to add different types of archers/mages?

Since when is the success of any game in KR any indicator to how it is going to perform in the west? KR loves heavy p2w and TL doesn't have it. They love heavy p2w so they can RMT and earn real money. A lot of them play MMORPGs to make a living. Bots have been reduced by 80% with the latest countermeasure and are barely visible out in the world. Server merges happen only cause they created new servers on the release day as the game had long queues and they didn't expect that many players, so they opened new servers which died and now theres few populated servers after a merge. I don't understand people like you. How do you propose a new MMORPG comes to the public and isn't instantly being hated and called dead. By your logic, developers should just not bother making MMORPGs ever again cause nothing will ever be as good.

There is only one mmo that cut my attention it was archeage, trade system and all activity that were have to be done with faction or guild, crafting ships extreamly fun trade carts and more. If they add Black Desert combat I'm sold forever. And this is literally coming in archeage 2. Guys it's coming in 2025 just wait a little for God Tier mmo.

What on earth do you mean Lost Ark released content too quickly? It was too slow. The game didn't even come out with any endgame (Argos) which caused fake controversy since it was an update instead of the base endgame. The game had no honing buffs and missing the rewarding challenge content. Brel was the endgame for 8 months which completely killed the game for no reason since it was released with 0 honing nerfs.

Lost Ark players are weird. The only thing that game has to offer is the difficulty and challenge of boss encounters, but the moment anything is actually challenging (like Brel release was) they bitch and moan it nerfed to oblivion. It's become just an RMT clusterf**ck of farming same bosses on as many alts as you can nolife the game. No wonder gatekeeping and toxicity are peak in that game. Calling it an MMO is a bit of strech too. You never do anything relevant with more than 7 other players. How's that massive?

Argos released a bit too soon, at the time a lot of people complained about the grind to do all gates on release was too much. You could argue that people don't need to play all three gates first week, but that was not a popular opinion at the time. And about content being too slow, come on be real. No MMO company can make content as fast as people want, specially with the complexity of LA raids. If they rushed to release what was already available in Korea, people would just have to wait even more after we reach them. That demand is ridiculous.

Saying Argos is too soon is completely ridiculous. The problem was 100% too slow content release and delayed honing nerfs. Remember that we had to hone manually through t2 and only got feiton passes early on. We had no event for destroyer at all. The game was still hanging on fine until Brel was the only content for 6-8 months with pre-nerf shard values to milk players while we saw Korea doing Akkan which was received much better and still enjoyed to this day with minimal complaints. The funniest part is brel killed KR too since it was the only endgame for 1 year so they were fully aware

Argos coming too soon, snowballed the game into losing way too many players, while the rest of content like honing buffs, more mats etc was delayed. That was the turning point for majority of players. After Argos debacle they slowed up the content

Combat is the weakest part of the game imo. I would say its something like Gw2 w/o dodging. Targeting also feels really bad, as its not targeting targets in action mode that you are pointing at till you manage to alt tab to it.

A lot of things already changed for the better after first 3 months. I stopped played around that same time and a lot of cool changes that make endless grinding easier were implemented. New t2 dungeons, hard version of older dungeons. The only problem is the playerbase, as it is KR version and not many western players want to waste time on a region they will quit. Most players saw and tested everything they wanted and now we wait for global release.
