As a handyman who does tons of flat pack furniture assembly, I always recommend using some kind of table when putting furniture together. It saves time and sore knees & back. I also think it lets you take more time and get better fittings on screws, bolts, etc because you’re more comfortable. Nice work on the garage.

I do those floors for a living and I gotta say laricrete does make good products. Two things though, first, even with the best hepa vacuums dust masks are a must, silicosis is incurable. Second, that orange peel finish is killing me, sand in between coats and use the chemicals within their working time to ensure self-leveling. Overall looks good, I like the colors and they did a good job with the surface prep.

Great garage, especially the floor! When painting the black base up the wall like that, tape it off so the finish is sharp, instead of messy / untidy as you can see @18:19 & @18:41. You can always touch it up but quicker and easier to get it right the first time using tape.

Lovely work! Could you do a cost rundown on this build? I want to remodel my garage and need an idea of the costs :)
@frostbite19913 жыл бұрын
I'd estimate 15-20K. 5K for cabinets, 5K for the floor job, 2.5K for finish work, 500 for paint, 1.5K+ for other odds and ends like TV, lights and such. If you gave yourself a $20,000 budget you could come out with something pretty nice like this. A lot less if you do the work yourself (Over half off on the floor alone). You can rent floor grinders for about $250/day or so depending on your area. They are just much smaller, but fine for a garage. The one featured in this video sells for $22,000! Been looking into a job like this for my shop, but at 30x32 its going to be very costly. I think I'd rather spend the money extending it 20' than getting it show-room, as the costs will be about the same since I'll be doing half of it myself (only paying for frame and foundation)

Little tip for your powertools (I see you do ryobi also). You should find someone with, or buy one, a 3D Printer to print holders for the tools and batteries. I did it and it looks fab and doubled my storage space at least. I found them already made up to print on thingverse. can do the same for sexy unique pegboard stuff if you do any of that. My pegboards are 3 color hexagons I printed. For more unique bling in the shop.

It looks awesome - better than I could have dreamed for. I put down the Rust-o-leum RockSolid Polycuramide floor in my garage when we moved in. It took a few days more for prep as I didn't have that nice grinder nor the experience of how to use it. My floor came out nice, but you have to mix the bags individually and they only cover a little bit of the garage (maybe 1/6 to 1/4) - so there are some differences in the color in each of those sections. Having professionals do the job really paid off. They had the right tools, skills, experience - and materials in the proper quantities to get a uniform look. Kudos on a beautiful garage. If you have the money - let the pros do it. You were also smart to get all of the cabinets at once so they would match and you wouldn't end up with that model being changed or not being available anymore.

Next is a 4 post car lift, and 2-3 Vyper fans, lighting upgrades, NewAge ceiling mount racks and a mini split. Even then, I’ll be shy of $30k. I love the space. It is huge, inviting, well designed and efficient. And we use it everyday. If you have ever desired a space like this, if you have the means, do it.

Love the results!! Bad af Having quick jacks is the safest option for an epoxy floor. The sharp corners on traditional jack stands can break through the epoxy, when you lower your car on them. Also, you can look into ‘wall mount garage openers’, to clear up the ceiling a bit Also, don’t be negligent to wipe up spills asap. People in the household can slip..the benefit of epoxy floors not absorbing fluids, can also backfire on you as well. It’s hard to spot clear fluids. So clean then up asap,
