Every engine build video with Quinn is an instant hit in my eyes. Clearly the dude is super knowledgeable

@garygallant53902 жыл бұрын
I wonder if his cap gets in the way ?
@chippyjohn1 Жыл бұрын
He barely rebuilt it. Chooses an intake manifold on looks when the engine will not flow enough to utilise it and sacrifices low end torque with it. Amateur builder.
@myurcek052 жыл бұрын
***Quick tip*** After taping off the intake and exhaust ports (recommend a double or triple layer), if you have the old manifold gaskets put it on with a few bolts and washers to hold the tape in place. This will help prevent the tape from being removed by the pressure washer when you are trying to get that deep clean.

I can't believe u guys went to this level and didn't do a piston rod cam combo with it. Still very cool.
@Datsmo633 Жыл бұрын
One thing about the roloc bristle disc (hedgehog) you're using: There is grit suspended in the plastic and there are three common colors. White for aluminum, yellow and green for iron. Green is 50 grit, yellow is 80 grit, and white is 120. You CAN take off too much material using green on aluminum. Also, I'd like to see more with what you're doing for the coolant passages underneath the intake and curious about no oil restrictor or head drain back modifications.
@krownlessking24232 жыл бұрын
Beautiful engine work as always from Quinn, but I really wish you guys would’ve put stronger rods and pistons in considering a stock rb20det makes just over 200hp stock and you guys want to push 350hp

Makes me sad i never got to finish my RB20 s13 hatch. I was pretty much finished with it but i needed a new daily n had to let the project go. But id be lying if i didnt say this build is goals for a RB20. That things guna be so much fun with a topmount like 3070 turbo on it you could push 400+whp in that engine safely id imagine. Turned out mint... only problem with the rb20 is that it is a rb20, just like the ca18... they both are boat anchors that don't make power
@Jez31342 жыл бұрын
There's plenty of 300kw RB20s out there, TD06-20g, RB26 injectors, a good tune with all supporting mods will get you there. This has been a pretty standard recipe for the last decade. In an R32/S13 chassis that's a high 11/low 12 second car.
@joshuaszeto2 жыл бұрын
It probably won't be an issue but I would suggest next time to go easy on the sealant because the squeeze out that happens on the inside of the engine can break off and clog oil pick ups or channels. I have seen a small piece of cured sealant squeeze out break off and clog a squirter and it resulted in a melted piston because oil stopped lubricating and cooling the back half of the piston. It was an expensive failure because it also scored the block.

the cam gears are assembled for packaging and not tight enough to be put on the car and ran as is, they never tightened them.
