Lived in Buglawton between 2001 and 2016. Familiar with the roads but not so much the canal, sort of regret not spending more time walking alongside. I'm now living in the US so really appreciate videos like this!

The odd flying saucer, but no other distractions, no 'look at me, look at me', just a simple canal trip along a very attractive waterway. As always, an absolute delight.

Been looking forward to a cruise down the super Mac’ with you Phil. Brings back happy memories from the early 1950s. Traversed it many times by canoe and day boat. Lots of inspiration for the painter. Hope you’re going wind and cruise the return trip with me aboard. Many thanks for the pure enjoyment.

@@NarrowboatJourneys , I've been pondering whether to move aboard a narrowboat this year, and your videos have been the single biggest factor in helping me to decide. I want to spend a few days at a time in remote and rural locations, and I simply didnt know whether there was still enough space for that on the UK network. Your videos have shown me many hundreds of yards of largely empty towpath, often half a mile or so- and I can see that there is a huge amount of space to moor in peace and quiet. I have asked this sort of question on discussion forums but gotten a variety of answers that did not leave me with a clear impression of the situation. Your videos have answered my question definitively , and I can only thank you very much indeed.
@NarrowboatJourneys4 жыл бұрын
Yes, there are plenty of places like that. Finding a food shop can be difficult sometimes. I think a bike is essential.
@bigtoe3333334 жыл бұрын
@@NarrowboatJourneys , I'm pondering an ebike to give me a bit more range to be honest, but yes- definitely some sort of bike!
@NarrowboatJourneys4 жыл бұрын
One of my bikes is electric. You'll need a good inverter of at least 300w pure sine wave to charge it. Takes about 3-4 hours and draws up to 13 amps! I can only charge it on a nice sunny day! A regular mountain bike would be my first choice. That's why I have two bikes.
