The EVA "screw thing" is a real-life experiment that shows a bi-stable rotation. It really rotates like that in real life for some reason. It's known as the Dzhanibekov effect, also known as the tennis racket theorem or intermediate axis theorem. Veritasium did a video on it. The "screw-thing" is called a wing-nut, because it's a nut with wings. Coincidentally Wingnut is also my nickname at work.

Amazing addition the external shots! And cant wait for the gemini iva! I will finally make a shepard destroyer like in the "lunar war" with kcs and have a proper period iva! Also, an idea that has occurred to me while you spoke of warping as "sleeping". Make a button that says "sleep" but that warps to the next maneuver node (or whatever interrupts the warp). Maybe even add a seat in some cockpits that have the space for it (like the lower part in the mk2 cockpit) with that button (and maybe the other warp time controls. So kerbals have to go down using freeiva to warp time.
@KurguttАй бұрын
Hey thanks a lot for the feedback ! Hahaha I want to see that Hmm that's a really cool idea actually, and I find it very funny, and "kerbal", that the kerbal would have to click on a "sleep" button, to sleep ! : P Also answered to your other comment ; )

Sorry for commenting so much but I do find it interesting how limitations make things more fun. The way you said "That's so cool" when seeing the engine rotate in the fake monitor. Obviously you can see it more clearly in vanilla KSP, but it's cooler to see it through a limited fixed monitor inside a cockpit that doesn't even show it in frame. You keep making this task more difficult for yourself for fun. My religion is the belief that we are God, but being God is boring, so we created suffering and limitations for fun.
@KurguttАй бұрын
Hahaha, no problem, feel free to comment as much as you want lol, I usually read and answer to almost all of them. : ) Totally agree, infinite freedom can introduce boringness and lack of purpose, constraints and limits of any sort are stimulating ! I guess we could even be extreme, and compare those limits to our little lifespan on this Earth, eternal life is boring : P Cheers

Which mod are the rotating thuds from? Did you make them yourself? And their integration with the iva too? Amazing vid!!
@KurguttАй бұрын
Yeah I made them ! I have WBI Kerbal actuator mod installed, which is integrated into MAS. And I just patched the thud to have the ability to rotate, and made the adequate props, to be able to control their rotation from inside the capsule, for coolness ! And thanks : )
@BaneinaАй бұрын
@Kurgutt can you share your patch for the thuds? I'd love to take a look at it!
@KurguttАй бұрын
@@Baneina sure : ) Drop it in gamedata, it obviously requires WBI Kerbal Actuators mod. It also has Waterfall and RSE configs inside, but you need to either delete those, or modify them, because they reference my mod folder ( put the cfg file in a new folder in gamedata with name "my_custom_mod_folder", then change the "FOR:[RPK]" in the file, to "FOR:[my_custom_mod_folder]"). Any other name can work ofc : P www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/2bmrob74ea02rpcbg9mh1/THUD_KerbalActuators.cfg?rlkey=xjnz1no4rxe88uwlzddsi8xa3&st=aac54c0l&dl=0

It is fantastic good job! May I ask how did you manage to be in IVA and record from external view the staging which you blend in to the video? Thank you!
@Kurgutt26 күн бұрын
Thanks a lot ! : D Of course : that was done separately : first I flew the mission from IVA in one go, then did the video editing, then noted down all the external shots I wanted to add, then I flew the mission a second time, recorded the shots from external view, and then synced them with the rest in the editing software. Some hours added of work, but I think it's worth it in the end ! Cheers : )

@@Kurgutt Thank you definitely I will join. Btw I am teaching kids with KSP we are building controllers together and do a Mun landing mission together with 10 Kids. Each controls with their own controller a part of the rocket. I thought I will now move this to a next level with VR headset. The only problem is that if the one person is in VR the other can't see the map. I use telemachus but you can't set navigation nodes. So if there would be a mod with dual display would be heck of a cool thing. One last question but in your flight have you been using a VR or headtracking? Or just the mouse?
@Kurgutt24 күн бұрын
@@raketenmannde OOh that's so cool, the kids must love the experience I believe (I woullda loved it has a kid for sure haha) I was using normal mouse controls, since I don't have a VR headset, yet : / Tho, in the intro shot in the car, the camera motion is controlled by headtracking, with Kerbtrack mod Same in previous Episode : 'Through the Eyes of a Kerbal - 5 - Fly me to the Mun', starting from 27 minutes into the video It's not perfect, but it's already good added immersion Cheers !
