Idk why! Just some weird coincidence. Anyway back to the rest of the episode. Keep doing what you guys love & I see you all having many more successes coming your way 🙏

We took the offer and honestly it was a good experience, it made me grow up a lot and realize a lot more things. To me the most important thing you need out of a basketball player is a good mind set. No matter all of the skill in the world none of that will matter if the player does not have the mind set to take Criticism and get better. I will take the kid with the better mind set every time. I was in the marines. We all do the same basic training (boot camp) and then after that it’s pretty much depends on what job you get. If you’re infantry you go to ITB (infantry training battalion) and if you’re anything else you go to MCT (Marine combat training). If you go to ITB I believe it’s 3 months and then you go to a duty station and if it’s MCT you go through 29 days of combat training and then you get assigned your MOS (military occupational specialty) and you go to school for whatever you get assigned and then after that you get assigned a duty station. So we all did get the same basic training but everything else depends on what your job is pretty much.

@@reidb6327 I think ppl are a little blinded by Sabonis being a 2x All-Star. Like there was a reason they paired him with Myles Turner. If you’re a big who isn’t a good defender, you better be able to space the floor and you really need a JJJr next to you, or a Myles Turner, or even like a Jerami Grant and some great perimeter defense. Sabonis is not a good rim or paint protector, and he clogs up your spacing. Richaun Holmes was a good defensive C for them on a value contract but it’s rly hard to play him and Sabonis together. So ya their defense is just not good. They don’t have the rim protection, and they don’t have elite perimeter defense to help cover that up AT ALL. That’s why I’d never want to build my team around Sabonis. You need such perfect, particular pieces around him. I don’t care if Haliburton ends up making only like 1 or 2 ASG’s in his career. If he stays healthy he’s at least gonna be a VERY good starting PG who can plug and play with almost anyone. Can play on and off ball, has size, and he’s still on his rookie deal. Obv this isn’t about that trade but I think ppl fail to realize this who are defending it. You’ll take a Haliburton over Sabonis any day even if Hali ends up not reaching his ceiling. It’s just a way more valuable position and player type. Like you can put Haliburton on any team in the NBA (who wants to win lol) and he’d help 1000%. Sabonis that’s just not true, especially in the playoffs. It is what it is. But ya SAC D is liable to get diced up by any rly good scorer, way more so than most. Edit: and no I’m not an IND fan lol, Haliburton thing was just a tangent.

Dribble hand off isn’t a pick and roll, it’s a screen still but not the “pick and roll”
@BOnYTB2 жыл бұрын
Ya lol P loves to try and correct DMills, it’s like an instinct for him. A DHO is a DHO, that’s the primary action. A million actions have a big setting a screen in them, doesn’t mean they’re a P&R. Especially w Seth, when it’s a DHO he’s usually gonna be shooting it when he grabs it off movement like JJ ran a lot of DHO’s to get 3P shots off. Now sure, if you want to get dumb technical sometimes if the big is doing a DHO and the guy receiving the ball doesn’t shoot, it’s possible the secondary action could be a P&R. But that’s just a silly thing for P to go at DMills about. The secondary action on a DHO can be anything. A DHO is not automatically a P&R lol.

it's a pick and roll the roll part isn't really accurate in a lot of what gets considered a PnR (for example, when PnR statistics are counted) because it often doesnt involve an off-ball cut or anything like that: obviously the standard DHO is an example of that. but it is a pick and roll

As a sixers fan I knew, just like Peewee said, not to believe in the hype and was still very worried about this team. That loss proved it and sucked the joy out of me for the season, this is the only basketball media I've consumed since that loss, team looks too flawed to compete for the champ sadly.
@BOnYTB2 жыл бұрын
Don’t let that suck the joy out of watching bball for you man. I understand being disappointed after a game like that, and being realistic about your team and having realistic expectations is totally reasonable. There’ll be another game soon tho where they kill it, and I hope you can enjoy it. Like Kenny always pushes, enjoy basketball my G. It’s one loss. Teams that add a star sometimes take a whole season to really gel. That was their first big game, playoff like intensity, after only playing like 5g together. Danny Green didn’t even play. I’m not saying that’s why they lost, obviously not lol. BKN had that vendetta mindset. But Danny Green is VERY important to y’all. I was looking at like your best 3 man/2man lineup combos and stuff maybe a week or two ago…and Danny Green was in most of the absolute best ones that had a reasonable sample size. I don’t think PHI fans realize how important Green is to you guys especially now. He’s obviously older and isn’t the defender he once was, but he’s still a smart vet who knows where to be on the floor and is a + defender that can also space the floor. Y’all don’t have many legit 3&D guys, and he’s really your only 3&D vet if we are being real. So ya man just enjoy the ride. PHI prolly won’t win a chip this year, I mean no team is better than like 20% to win it. But they have a chance to make a run and hopefully Embiid stays healthy. Idk how long you’ve been a Sixer fan but if you were around for the process then you should def enjoy it. They were HORRIBLE. I’m a Pistons fan and we are finally tearing it down for a full rebuild, really in our second season of a rebuild that’ll prolly mean at least a couple more years of being bad. I know when (knock on wood lol) they’re good again I’ll enjoy it bc I enjoy the build now, but obviously winning is fun. I started watching ball right around when DET won that chip against LAL but I was like 10. I started being a serious NBA fan years after that so it suckeddddd to go through being in purgatory. SVG era was TRASH. I still remember waking up to the Blake trade and being like wtffff did they just do?! Was hoping they’d fire him and we’d trade Tobias etc. for picks and rebuild but then that happened lmao. Anyway I went off on a tangent. But just enjoy it bro. I know those big losses are tough but don’t let it suck the joy out of the whole season for you man. It’s an important season even if you guys lose in the 2nd round or something, and it’ll be fun to watch. I’m excited to watch and I’m obv not even a PHI fan. You never know what can happen. Then this summer Morey will make some moves along the margins to make the team more well rounded. Maybe find a nice 3&D guy with the TPMLE and a better backup big and stuff. That and ideally Mattise continues to progress on offense. If he can shoot like 35% from 3P, even if he’s just a PJ Tucker MIL era type where 60%+ of his 3PA are corner 3s. If he can hit those corner 3s at close to 40 he’d be next level. Good luck to your team dude. Just make sure you root for DET to get a T3 pick in the lotto for me, we need one more 😂
@hightolerance87282 жыл бұрын
@@BOnYTB well said. But as a Celtics fan I’m stocked, cuz BKN smacked Philly around and we just bust Brooklyn up a few days earlier. But like P been Sayin they won those 5 games against bumbs . With Harden there, the way Embid was playing is Pretty much over. These owners an GM are rich but far removed from what it takes to play the game of basketball as a team. They need to consult with the coaches an players. And if DOC an Embid agreed to this. Then shit It’s there own fault. At some point people got a see Harden for Harden. He said they serve the same function which is basically true. You use a PnR to force a switch or get the ball handler an advantage on his defender. The handoff does the same thing for the player receiving the ball; add in a diving big, yeah, it’s pretty much a PnR.
@MO-rl9gl2 жыл бұрын
@@wwenexusfan908 It’s similar of course. But not at all the same. The big has emphasis on DHO’s. They can fake it for a face up or bring it into the post or fake it for another DHO on the other side like how a lot of pistol actions start. PnR is more about the ball handler.
