I have Fingersmith and Tipping the Velvet on my shelves unread. I think I should read one soon based on your recommendation!

I enjoyed Fingersmith this winter, and eventually ended up with 4 more books of SW (Affinity, Tipping the Velvet, The Night Watch, The Paying Guests), that patiently wait for me to pick’em up. Women’s Prize and Booker got in the way :)

I get it for sure. And I love your KZbin name! Which have been your favorites on the Women's and Booker prize lists?

@@BooksInkandPaper tbh, I am still working on both. But I really liked Ordinary Human Failings (more than everyone’s favorite - Soldier Sailor, at least), and was sad it didn’t make a long list at the time. Still need to read a fiction winner. But I am in the last third of Doppelgänger, and have mixed feelings. Loved Matrescence.

I feel like I’ve read one of her books but I can’t remember which one. I know there are some on my want to read lists too.

It is hard to remember what we've read, especially before tracking it. I am still trying to complete a book inventory and it may take the rest of my life. haha

I DNFed "The Paying guests" at 346 pages. It´s very well written but excrutiantingly slow and depressing
