Naxos greatly confused me when it first came in. From the first sniff i was like '' How the fuck does a fragrance smell fresh, citrusy, sweet, honey tobaccoey with hints of vanilla and masculine (not big boy chad energy masculine more like elegant and well dressed masculine) ALL AT THE SAME FREAKING TIME '' . I just couldnt decide for what scenario it was best suitted for cause apart from extremely hot summer days, you can wear it anytime. So i came to the conclusion that i want to wear it all the time ... My wallet is already crying. On the other hand i also got Alexandria II and while it smells absolutely insane and lasts forever especially on clothes, it was very easy to conclude that this perfume requires a suit and a Rolls Royce parked outside to compliment it .

As a male, I also love/loved Ambre Nuit. I included loved because ever since I bought Xerjoff 40 knots. I get everything that I liked with Ambre Nuit and then more! You know what they say? Once you go Xerjoff you never go back…..or something like that.

Naxos was my first niche gift to the hubby. He converted over from his standard Victor Rolf Spicebomb and understood the beauty in complex, well blended niche fragrances such as Naxos. Agree that it’s a powerhouse and max 2 sprays is all that’s needed. Such a gorgeous tobacco honey aromatic scent; for more calming days he turns to Gris Charnel. Great vid and descriptions!

I agree. Luxury fragrances are just not classy like they used to be. By the Fireplace and that Kayali apple garbage smell about as expensive as scratch n sniff stickers. Back in the day you wouldn’t smell vanilla on a sophisticated woman, a hooker or stripper maybe but not someone with style or money. Good perfume was easily identifiable. Not now. 90% of the “Luxury” fragrances smell cheap and garish. I’ll take a classic Hermes over any MFK dirty purse / linear candle spray any day.

Dior Homme 2020 is so under appreciated just because people were salty about the reformulation (hence why it had a 3.9 fragrantica rating at one point), but it is soooooo nice, i go nose blind very fast to it but i got a compliment 8 hours after application.

I bought YSL Bleu Electrique because I heard from tons of reviewers that it smells alot like the old La Nuit De L'Homme. I've never smelled the older version but I blind bought Bleu Electrique off of this fact and I am absolutely in love with it! Just like how you described La Nuit De L'Homme, my jaw dropped and it smelled so good and just sexy! My wife loves it and everytime I spray it on I just get a big smile on my face cause it's so pleasing to my nose. Apart from it obviously being discontinued, my only other gripe is that the performance is pretty weak sadly... I spray about 5-6 sprays and after about 5-6 hours it's very faint where only I can really smell it if I put my nose to my shirt. Is there anything out there that captures the essence of this smell but performs better? I'm guessing it's the Cardamom that I really like.

Excluding samples, I have 45 fragrances. Side Effect and Ombre Leather EDP are my two most complimented fragrances...easily...and Ombre Leather EDP is my wife's favorite. Neither of them are in my top half favorites in my collection. I really like them but don't love them...yet, they seem to REALLY attract positive female attention.

Cedrat boise isnt really niche anymore. There is a huge grey market for cb and there is too much variation from different batches lately, its a shame because this frag earlier on was a legend. Money grabbing killed it. CB is no longer just made in france, mancera partners with factories globally which is why you can get it cheap due to bulk savings and low shipping costs, and precisely why some bottles and boxes have blurred or removed batch codes, due to export legal reasons.

It's an older batch, recent batches come with magnetic caps and quality wise, inconsistent. Buying CB is like playing Russian roulette you're never sure if youre getting a properly blended batch.
