@@lilyjohnson8589 Yeah, the disrespect on female sportsters is actually wrong. They’re faster and more athletic than you might think. For example, I had the misfortune of having to guard the #1 on the girls basketball team in high school gym class. At first we were both just messing around because it’s fun basketball and we both have sports obligations after classes. Well, then I went between her legs and finished up top with a layup over her. It was so sick, and while I’m celebrating she’s like “alright let’s go” and while I asked her afterwards if she was actually, and she did she was, but even to me it seemed like she was only going 40 or 50% against me even when she tried harder. It was humiliating and not fun but I didn’t care. I was just trying my best to stay with her and stay in front of her. She was just able to stand and pull-up from 20 feet out and drain it or hit a 5 foot fallaway from the post and I couldn’t stop it. I was a mid-to-top ranked cross country runner, I did like basketball and was pretty good at it for my short size. I could shoot, dribble, pull-up or drive and penetrate, and pass (can pass and shoot better now that I’m older).

The game at all levels has too many hard fouls in the paint because the consequences aren't what they should be. On a play like this, two points should go on the scoreboard [as is done when goaltending occurs] and then there should be a foul shot or two. It would reduce violence, which isn't supposed to be part of basketball.

One girl in my high school (in NYS) was ranked top 20 in the state and she was really good. When you’re 6’3 and average around 22 pts. and 14 boards a game for both junior and senior seasons they’re going to be popping around to see what all the buzz is about. She hit 4 game-winners her senior (my sophomore year) and man when she left we weren’t the same without her. We went from winning 26-27 games a season to winning 18. Still made section finals both my junior and senior years but that’s because the section we were in wasn’t great for girls basketball. Really good for wrestling, football, and soccer but not basketball.
