Throwback: Cara Honeychurch bowls perfect 300 game on TV - 2nd time in the history of the PWBA

It was the 7th October 1999, where the now Tenpin Bowling Australia CEO Cara Honeychurch embarked on her professional bowling career in the USA as a 27-year-old.
In the first week that she turned professional and her second tournament, Cara would appear in the opening shootout match at the PWBA AMF Gold Cup at Richmond, Virginia, USA.
Showcasing nerves beyond her years, Cara would throw a 300 game in the opening shootout match against Aleta Sill (238) and Wendy Macpherson (213) and be awarded a $50,000 cash prize for doing so. Cara would finish the tournament runner up to Dana Miller-Mackie.
This would be the second ever TV 300 game by a female bowler in the history of the game.
Michelle Feldman was the first to roll a 300 on TV two years prior in the title match of the Southern Virginia Open in 1997.

That's a lot of bowling talent right on that pair. Aleta Sill, Wendy MacPherson, and Cara Honeychurch. In a stint on the PWBA tour shortened by the tour's demise, she managed to win 8 titles. Had she had a few more years on the tour, IMHO she would have been a shoo-in for the PWBA Hall of Fame, hitting that ten-title threshold would have been a formality more than likely. Keep in mind that her Amateur record was such that she was already a World Bowling Writers International Hall of Famer before this telecast happened. Just this year (2022) she was inducted into the Sport Australia Hall of Fame. It was always fun to watch her bowl. She could just repeat shots. Her routine was always the same. To this day a model delivery shot for one-handed bowlers.

She was my all time favorite female bowler. I am left handed and when the tour came to Myrtle Beach SC I thought I was going to met her and bowl with her in the youth pro am but she didn't make the trip before the women's tour folded.
