Exactly. I love how the regular season had good games, but when the playoffs started, you seen just how much the intensity picked up. Everything was contested and nothing easy at the rim. I use to love that feeling the weekend the playoffs started and you knew you had a whole slate of games to watch.

As a young Nuggets fan watching this series in 2009 Kobe felt absolutely unstoppable. Looking back now and seeing how much Melo frustrated him gives me so much pleasure. Melo’s game will always be criminally underrated. These were epic duels that we are now unfortunately deprived of in todays quick whistle league.

Those and the dark-blue with the yellow lettering were sick. Those jerseys were very underrated. The colors with that team just had that big boy swagger to it; them boys were that squad!

@@mdhcccc yea that too. The athletes seemed larger than life. Back then there was like maybe 10 true “stars” in the league. Now all 30 teams have 2-3 so called “stars” but it’s not the same. Also the production, especially pregame, by the networks and broadcasts were much better than they are now.

TheRealRC3 Melo is a bum. The great Chauncey Billups was the real reason the Nuggets were so good. As soon as Billups left Melo became a perennial first round exit again, just like he was before Billups That's why the Nuggets were 0-3 without Billups in 08/09 but the Nuggets were 9-7 without Carmelo in 08/09

This is one of my Playoff Series of all time. And it was without doubt the toughest Series for the Lakers back in 2009. Way tougher than the Finals against Orlando.

I disagree. If you go back and look at the Magic-Lakers series, it could've easily been Los Angeles trailing 1-3. Orlando could've been up if Courtney Lee made that layup in Game 2; they won Game 3; Dwight Howard missed two crucial free throws in Game 4 that would've put the game away before Derek Fisher hit that 3 to tie the game and send it into overtime. The Magic organization also messed up by benching Rafer Alston and letting Jameer Nelson play.

Melo can play D, and be competitive on both ends. But, he chose not to because it's a lot of work. In truth I think it's his conditioning, he doesn't have the stamina to do so, why, because he doesn't want to put in the hard work off the court. To be one of the greatest, you got to play D.

Can see why Artest was traded for in this series, aswell as the Boston one the following seasons. Ariza is fantastic getting up and down the floor and was becoming a very good peice but just doesnt have the strength to deal with these physical SF's like Melo, Pierce, Artest himself, Lebron etc

Reason kobe has a smoother jump shot and drives to basket compared to lebron melo and durant is because he has a decent cross over. Same with Curry. Cross gives him good space for the jump shot. Durant has crazy reach though.
