I just don't under stand what the big deal is about buying charger. Ty stood by Amy in everything she wanted and stayed by her side during her blindness, and she is ready to throw in the towel over Ty trying everything he can to come up with the money so he get that ranch for Amy. She knows he working himself to death to get the money and yes it is risky but he had Amy at heart in doing so.

I know Amy is the featured star of this show but I dont know why the writers go out of their way to make Ty look so weak and confused. They made him look like an emotional "drama queen" who caused the breakups even though it was Amy who was responsible for both of them. If she ever does try to say "I am sorry" it comes across as insincere rather than heart-felt because everyone knows her words never match up with her actions. Her efforts in this regard are also generally directed at the whole drama situation they are facing rather than to her specific wrongful actions. To me that kind of nullifies what she is trying to do in the first place. A good example of this is when Amy said in the barn scene of season 8 "she was so, so sorry about last night". She was actually referring to the Princes actions rather than her own. Ty was completely humilitated in front of the whole family after the depth of Amys dishonesty toward him was finally revealed. It was made worse when Ahmed said right to his face "that all he does in hold Amy back". Notice that Amy never told Ty, even after this confrontation was ovder, that what Ahmed said was not true. That means that she agreed with it. Throughout this episode the producers never showed Amy suffering any real consequences for her actions. I think it is particularly troubling that she didnt recieve any criticism from her family for what she had done. If Jack would have said something expressing "his disappointment in her" or otherwise in support of Ty, that would have been a very powerful meesage pointing out to viewers who was at fault in all of this. Instead, all Amy said was that "nothing happened" (no sex) and that this "relationship" that Georgi spoke about was all in Ahmeds head. Her clear reaction was more "why are you over-reacting so badly" rather than " I am so, so sorry" for betraying your love and lying to you for so long". Due to the seriousness of this betrayal, at some point Amy neeeded to be forced to sincerely and repeately apologise to Ty. She would need to do it more than once because everyone knows she isnt very trustworthy or credible in what she says. Viewers would need to know that she means it. Included in those apologies would be her telling Ty directly that "she understands how much she has hurt him" and that "she just cant lose him". Can you imagine how much better season 8 would have been if the producers would have had Amy do that. It would have been incredibly redeeming for her character. Much better than just having Ty forgive her again. Instead, they had her openly complain to the family about how unfairly Ty was treating her. She even suggests that Tys actions are so wrong and unfair that she should probably just "move on " from him. I was amazed that the family didnt call her out for statement and ask her to consider what she would do if Ty had done the same thing to her. This proved once again that Amy will never take responsibility for her actions and that she basically only cares about herself. She repeatedly shed tears over the fate of wild horses but was completely willing to let her relationship with Ty be lost forever rather than go to him in tears and apologize for what she had done. Not holding Amy accountable for her actions was the worst thing the producers could have done to damage her image and her character in this series. She never recovered from it. I know todays modern TV is all about strong independent women but there is nothing wrong with a strong capable men either. Amy repeatedly mocked Ty for wanting to be a man and at least pay his share of the ranch. He also told her that he didnt want to depend on her for money. She thought all of that was sexist. Amy is a much less sympathetic character to me because of this repeated pattern against men. Still, I agree with so many comments on this video that this is a very good series. It just isnt as good as it could have been.

So, Heather Conkie wanted viewers' hearts to go up and down, then go crazy when the helicopter took off. That didn't happen for me. Instead, I saw a decent young man being viciously humiliated and getting his heart ripped out by his deceitful fiance. Amy crossed one boundary after another with Ahmad long before the trip. The two had already started an emotional affair that turned physical by the end of the tour. She left knowing Ahmed was falling in love with her. Amy abandoned Ty for four months to pursue a relationship with Ahmed. The storyline was not as Heather described. It was so unrealistic that it makes me wonder if any male writers worked on the Prince saga. Heather said Ty is maturing, but all she did was emasculate his character. Ty would have pulverized Ahmed after he gave Amy the Miracle Girl saddle, and he would NEVER be "OK" with Amy leaving with him. I worry about what young impressionable viewers took away from this episode. As for me, I wouldn't let my children watch it.

Well said. Amy had her experience with Chase to learn what happens when you lead a man on but she still didnt care. All she thought about was her own selfish interests. Fans just have to live with knowing exactly the type of person Amy really is. Is that really what todays modern women are supposed to be like?

@@ivandiedericks5573 The all-female Heartland writing team thinks men are stupid. They wanted us to believe Amy was just a poor innocent victim who loved working with high-end horses and went on an adventure to find herself. Give me a break. Amy fell in love with her boss, deserted her fiancé, and had an emotional affair that turned physical at the end of the tour. When she returned, she was torn on whether to leave Ty, but everything blew up. Writers also wanted us to believe Ty was too stupid to know what was happening. It turns out Ty knew what Ahmed was up to from the start. They said Ty was maturing and chose to trust Amy. Seriously? Decent men who love and respect the women in their lives know to trust their instincts. You can feel it in your bones when some guy is getting too close and trying to steal your girl. If she says they’re “just friends,” it’s a lie. The worse mistake Ty made was rolling over and allowing Amy to disrespect him. Any guy with even half a brain would have dumped Amy when she decided to go on that European tour.

The scene where Amy flies off in a helicopter with Ahmed, leaving Ty shattered, was taken from a gut-wrenching scene from the 1993 movie Indecent Proposal when Woody Harrelson's character runs up to a helipad to try and stop his wife from flying away with a millionaire. Even though Heartland and Indecent Proposal's storylines are entirely different, I counted several scenes involving Prince Ahmed that are too similar to the movie to be coincidental. It's not nice to copy other writers' work.
