Even here, Bobby was so supportive of Jackie. I always thought that Jackie would've been happier married to Bobby. He's more sensitive & sentimental than Jack, and Jackie would've had more privacy. Jack's callousness would go right over Ethel's head, lolol, and Jack would've loved Ethel's high energy. And of course, Ethel would've been thrilled to be First Lady

You make very insightful points. I always go back to the father (Joseph, Sr.) with the Kennedys. Jack delivered in many ways to be commended, but in the end, he was pushed into pursuing the Presidency simply because of his father (and his older brother's death). It wasn't fair to him at all.

@@thehistoryguru7796 Thanks. And here's some feedback to back up how accurate you are about Joe Sr. : Jack said that he wanted to be a writer, but added: "I guess I'll just end up doing whatever my father tells me to do."

@@joeyyc8515 Maybe not: Jack's buddies said that there were two women who were so ugly that they were shocked that Jack would regularly have sex with them in the pool when Jackie was away from the White House. Also, it was Jack's father who chose Jackie as a suitable bride for his second son, who he was meticulously rearing to become president, in place of Jack's older brother Joe, who died in a war accident. His father even chose & bought the engagement ring for Jack to present to Jackie!

Great care had to be taken because of Jacqueline Kennedy's pregnancy during her husband's campaigning, in light of her having lost two children before, or at the time of, birth a few years before. She had suffered a miscarriage in 1955, and their daughter Arabella was stillborn the following year. There was further family sadness for the Kennedys in August 1963, when their son Patrick Bouvier Kennedy died two days after he was born.

Emory Roberts rode shotgun in the back up car head of the Secret Service Detail that day at Dealey Plaza. When the President got shot, Emory Roberts was in charge thereafter. Nobody ever talks about that. He took charge of everything, and immediately got Johnson onto Air Force One to leave Dallas and be sworn in going to Washington or if necessary a safe place to protect him. Emory was my neighbor in Wheaton, Md. on Holdridge Rd. Most of this is in Dealey Plaza - In the early morning it was scheduled to rain in Dallas and the Secret Service was setting up to install the canopy on the car. The forecast changed and the President wanted to be seen by the crowds, and besides the President did not want ir put on. So it was not put on. So as to not make JFK negligent in his death, it was bandied about that there were no foot stands on the rear of the car for Secret Service to ride on. Clearly you can see two foot stands on the rear bumper of the car with handrails to hang on. Clint Hills is stepping on one to get onto the back of the car to be with Jackie. There is just bogus story after bogus story surrounding JFK's assasination.
