This made me cry. My student was panicking because Mom was not first in the pickup line and he was worried she had been in a car accident. His Dad died not quite 2 years ago.... 😢 I asked if he needed a hug and he hugged so tight and started crying. No wonder we are worn out after school.

The nerve of some to call people in this profession glorified babysitters. This was a touching video teachers really do it all and are expected to give even more. I know sometimes it doesn’t feel like it but your kids will remember those moments and appreciate you forever even if they don’t say so every day💖

Shout out to Mrs. Wiltz in my 6th grade history class! She made it fun and oh so interesting for me to learn, hammering home the point that history is necessary context for everything that's happening right now. Today I'm pushing 50 and thanks to her patience and unique teaching style, I am still fascinated by historical and current events to this day, and continue to learn all I can. Much love and gratitude to you, Mrs. Wiltz!

Thank you for posting this. I’m a high school student but my mom has been a teacher my entire life. People in my grade will make rude remarks and disrespectful comments about teaching as a profession. Say things like “I don’t understand why (teacher name) is such a bad teacher. It’s not even a hard job, I could do it.” It’s so annoying because the reason schools are losing teachers is because of parents and students and the general population that don’t respect teachers and what they do.

AMEN!! There is a rediculous amnt of PARENT/CHILD ENTITLEMENT. I think every parent should come in and teach a class and be in classroom all day !! they’ll figure out how much work teachers put into their EVERYDAY AND Then take their job home to finish correcting papers, plan, And if they are lucky, get six hours of sleep!! Americans it’s time to be grateful and respect your teachers. IT ALL STARTS AT HOME.

This made me get choked up - this is so true. That hat you wear at the end. I feel like I cheated my family for the past 26 years because I was so exhausted when I got home. My patience was shot, and there were times I’d come home and go straight into my bedroom shut the door and take a nap when my kids were old enough to feed themselves.

It’s ok. You needed and deserve a break too. My wife was Special Ed Teacher and then a school principal for 38 years. Sometimes she would come from a long day and our teenage daughter would have a bunch of loud girlfriends over and I told my wife at the front door just go have a nice glass of wine someplace and I’d call her when the kids left. Now she is retired and it’s like she is a new relaxed person who sleeps in and is happy and content.

Last year I had a friend in my Orchestra who was dealing with SEVERE mental illness. My orchestra teacher would pull me aside to make sure she was okay and still had food. She would pick up pencils, sheet music, rosin and papers. She would teach the 4th graders how to hold their bow no matter how long it took. She would help the 5th graders read notes, even if they wanted to give up. She would take Advanced Orchestra on field trips to colleges and then to arcades after. She let me stay in the orchestra room and practice before school because my little brother had Jazz Band. She spent $275 because my friends bass snapped. She put aside a grading day to have us come in so she could help us Because of all that she did last year, I bought her La Croix (her favorite), told her thank you every morning and after school, and helped her teach the 4th and 5th graders (when my other teachers said I could) This year my friend and I are making a scrapbook for her. We are collecting pictures from concerts and funny things she says (it happens a lot) we are really sad that this is our last year with her. We have decided ti make the most out of it. Teachers wear many hats. Thank your teachers.

Surprisingly, this made me cry. I guess it's because I loved my teachers and my experience in the 90's. It just felt special, and I feel so sad about our under funded schools today and over worked teachers. My childhood friend was the smartest kid in class, she became a teacher. In ky, they just keep lowering their pay, and she lives in a government apartment. What's happening in the U.S is embarrassing.

Nailed it! No wonder I'm exhausted all the time. I definitely don't want to be a "core" classroom teacher, but as an enrichment teacher, I have over 1,000 students and 2 sets of admin. It's art...so the prep and clean up is non-stop, there're always the "extra" in your "spare time" requests that have nothing to do with your actual teaching responsibilities 🤦🏻‍♀️, and then the hat that evidently reads"art supply store clerk" 🤷🏻‍♀️...cause folks always want my goods!😂 Saddest part for me is...I feel like my own kids were put on the back burner with their schooling. I was too done at the end of the day (aka 9:00 pm) to feel very involved with their schoolwork and related activities. #guilt 🤕 I'm in a new district and feel the happiest I have in a long time. But I can't keep this up til retirement. Our country needs an educational overhaul! 💔

I hate the saying "Those who can't do, teach." Teachers do so much everyday that parents and outsiders aren't aware of. My co-worker said that quote off-handedly the other day and I got so mad, cause I used to teach and I know how hard it can be. Respect and love for all teachers out there.

If it wasn’t for teachers and professors we’d have no training for our job or anything! They need to be paid more and need to be appreciated so much more then they are! I’ve met some foul and horrible teachers. One legit hit my daughter when she was 5. She was so scared she peed her pants and I would have went to jail if I’d of caught her that day but luckily she seen/heard me coming n hid. And she’s still a teacher to this day. I’ve met more that where and are absolutely disgusting human beings but Even though I’ve met teachers like that one and just ones who do not care at all, there are way more teachers out there who do not act like that and actually care about their students. Those teachers need to be praised. If it wasn’t for teachers like I said we wouldn’t know shit. We wouldn’t haven our jobs like most jobs you need the knowledge that teachers/professors taught us. They are so under appreciated and taken for granted a lot. Which is really messed up. It’s super sad tbh. So treat them right! (If they are good teachers cause there are bad ones I’ve seen em) but the great ones need more appreciation. 🥰
