Paul and Jamie have a fight so Paul escapes to their favorite diner, where he meets Ursula Buffay.

@J Ygb "Exact same" is a bit of a stretch. Phoebe is more personable and engaging with people around her. Ursula's thoughts always seem to be elsewhere. By the same token, I wouldn't say they're exact opposites either. They share similarities in some areas but not in others.

I'd say they are the same AND the opposite of one another at the same time, which makes Lisa's performance even more awesome. Their weird demeanor is the same, but where Phoebe radiates warmth, Ursula radiates indifference.

Phoebe was actually a ditzy and sweet person in the early seasons of Friends but later her personality changed somewhat, not so sweet anymore but a bit insensitive to others like Ursula but not as bad as Ursula ; she was a bit bitchy sometimes to Monica and Chandler, after Chandler and Monica were already married, Phoebe comes into Central Perk and announced to Monica she found Monica's soulmate right in front of Chandler, that is something I think Ursula would do, not sweet Phoebe.

@@wildkims2008 yea. Lisa Kudrow talks about it. She was casted on Mad About You first, and when she got Friends, their time slot was right after Mad About You. So they needed an explanation as to why audiences are seeing the same girl on two shows set in NYC that air back to back. So they came up with them being twins.

Actually she was only on Mad About you and Friends both for part of one season. When the Friends producers decided Phoebe and Chandler would be part of the ensemble cast and more than reoccurring secondary characters, (like Gunther) Lisa left Mad About You. Jaime and Paul never went to that restaurant again. They never explained Ursula's disappearance. She was just no longer there. They did have Jaime and Fran do a cameo and come into the coffee shop on Friends and think Phoebe was Ursula in her new waitressing job. It was quite funny, Phoebe didn't realize they thought she was Ursula, lol! She just thought THEY were kooks wanting her to bring them coffee.
