I find it weird everyone is saying Phoebe was jealous and wanted Joey. I never saw it that way. I feel phoebe saw Joey as a best friend and truly cared about him getting hurt. The boyfriend who was a best friend that Ursula stole and broke his heart was only an analogy for her fear that Ursula would hurt Joey. She doesn’t want to see her best guy friend hurt. And she was right in the end. Ursula sucked and broke Joey’s heart.

Yes Joey was usually okay but that was because the other women were more like one night stand or casual things and he ended them. Whenever he had one of his rare more serious ones the gang I either worried Joey would get hurt or the girl would. Phoebe saw that Joey seemed to really like her sister and also knew her sister was terrible. And my point still stood he wasn’t okay like normal after Ursula.

IIRC they had Lisa Kudrow's real sister (non-twin) play back of Phoebe and Ursula's head, because they look similar enough to not notice from the back, and that made it really really quick to shoot these scenes.

Pheebs is my fave. Her own person, funny, awesome cothes . I get Monica and Rach were bffs since forever, but it seemed as if they ignored her sometimes. They adored her, but forgot about her, I thought, coz their bond was so tight Phoebe never said anything, it never came of anything, but been interesting if she said soemthing, what the other two said. It is the same off the show too. I read Ms Cox and Ms Aniston adore Ms Udrow, but they are so tight and she gets ignored by them at times. Dunno if that is true. As I said, was on the show at times.

It was a coincidence. Ursula (still played by Lisa Kudrow) was a waitress on another show that I can't remember the name of right now. When Friends aired, the writers thought the viewers might be confused as to why there were two identical characters on two different shows, so they made Ursula and Phoebe twins. Ursula in the original show wasn't actually "evil", she was very flighty and ditzy, but not a bad person. I guess the Friends writers made her the "evil" twin because the juxtaposition between Phoebe and Ursula's personalities was funny. So no, it didn't have anything to do with Disney, it would've been a funny reference though :)

But since both Phoebe and Ursula are played by the same actress they don't have those subtle differences. Just the scene I wanted to re-watch. I keep missing the boyfriend who's like your best friend's name. Randy Brown. 🤗 It seems just like Phoebe to have had a best friend boyfriend as a young girl. And just like the sad strain in her life that her unkind look a like stole him. There's a great video by The Take on the dynamic between Phoebe and Ursula and how Ursula processed her trauma in the opposite way from Phoebe. Interesting idea--being reminded of the Judy Jettson thermos might have felt kind of passive aggressive to Ursula. She's such a strange character and if we think about it her sex work and avoidance of intimacy is sad. Hard to imagine Lisa Kudrow also playing Ursula the waitress on Mad About you so many years. I've only seen some episodes that I remember but such a warm, witty actress playing such a disconnected character. Feels off, but for that show her performance worked. How weird was it that in the crossover cameo they assume "Ursula" also waits tables at Central Perk. Uh, hello, waitresses drink coffee in Cafés after work too. How classist! Like, she could only exist as someone who's supposed to be serving them. Kinda fun / weird fact: Kudrow was to play Roz on Fraiser. She's got plenty of range but Phoebe was so perfect for her, such a complex, loveably odd character.
