I like to watch fishing, real fishing and no one smokes them every single day. I go searching for ponds now because of this series and one fish is a success any day. Cause some guys went that day and didn’t catch any. If you don’t think the bass are biting go to a weigh in.

I've been to one of my secret ponds and on one day it yielded 6 wipers and a large mouth (3 of the wipers were 4+ #, and one on the verger of 4 #), with 2 wipers and a largemouth lost. Went the next day with my kids expectant of another epic day (both days were epic on the bass forecast app) and it only yielded one ice cream cone bass (to quote what Tyler says), so even bodies of water that are known to yield lots and/or large bass, can also have days that will frustrate and skunk you. I have not caught anything on that body of water since and it has been my go to when I do want to catch. The weather was also not helping during that period, as I think it was turning the fish on, and then a cold front would roll in and switch them off completely.

A lot of ponds are horribly mismanaged. There are 2 examples right here in this video. Typically this is because the fish populations are out of balance and there are too many bass. Best thing you can do for your local pond is harvest skinny bass.

I enjoy the 100 ponds series even if the fishing is tough. I like to hear the thought process, even in your lake videos. I feel these pond fish get conditioned to bite during low light conditions due to fishing pressure. And because they see so many normal size lures they don't bite them as well. Sometimes you have to resort to trout lures. I've been exploring JDM lures and their finesse techniques so I have something to fallback should conventional lures fail.
@blakemiller90376 ай бұрын
Pond bass most definitely get used to seeing big lures and the same lures so it’s good to switch it up even if it’s just a little change but in these colder months up north here I resort to micro stuff because not only is it an easier meal for the fish but also you can catch other species if they are in that body of water. I’ve spent last year trying new techniques and it’s paid off and so I’m gonna a do that this year too, hope you try some new stuff and advance your fishing 🎣

I think Game and Fish should always stock bass yearly in local ponds. You have to catch and release anyway. Makes for awesome local pond fishing. Imagine a 8 year old catching his first local pond 3 pounder. Once the bass hit 3.5+ relocate it to a lake or bigger pond and keep the cycle going.
