Imagine how frustrating it would be to try to get all the water out of that!

That’s what I’ve always wondered, if it’s a bud case and you put water in it to Lee the bud alive, how are you gonna clean out and change the water 😭

I suppose you could make it so that it tapers to a point on both the top and bottom of the lip, but I’m not a potter so I don’t know how feasible that idea is

Some leftover water is not a problem, so you would just bother yourself in vain even trying to fully empty it. It’ll evaporate and dry eventually regardless. It’d not that big of a deal for a decorative item like this.

You can use it as a dry vase if getting the water out bother you dried up flowers would look wonderfully there ,tip if you gonna use dried up flowers try to include some dried aromatic there like dried up lavender it really helps to look put together

It kind of looks like some tube sea sponge or an exhaust pipe. I bet the glaze or the metallic add-ins could make that same shape dramatically different looking by color alone

Have you made plant pots in your style? I have been thinking about your videos and how all the double pots I find (pot inside of another pot that wicks water into it slowly) are made of plastic or sometimes glass, but not clay.

I love his work! We've never met, but we've exchanged messages and I've handled his pots a number of times - the text adored vessels are glorious!

@@floriangadsbyOh wow! Thanks for the reply! I’ve only ever interacted with him as a meditation teacher but I’m intrigued by his ceramics work. Your videos are really making me want to start learning but it seems like an expensive thing to get started as a hobby. Is there any way to fire pots without buying a £2000 kiln?

I don’t want to tell anyone how to do their job. But how did you use a kidney(?) to push the top from curving outwards to curving inwards?? Wouldn’t that just cut the clay away, not push down? Or it feels like the clay would just sink down into the vase without support
