7'9 cranking rod, 5.3:1 gear ratio reel, and 12lb fluorocarbon.

I actually upgraded to a 7’10 glass for 8 and 10xds. The 7’9 graphite works for them but I’ve found is better suited for a DT14 and 16’s and 6xds.

I like how you don’t play around with the bass you hook, some of these youtubers will take darn near a minute to land a little 2 pound bass. Heck, yesterday I watched a guy spend 2 1/2 minutes (actually checked the time) fighting a 5 pounder on med action baitcasting gear.
