Hi, Catherine. I was feeling the same a few years ago while living with my parents and brother. I started decluttering my room when I was about 21 and improved along the years until I became a minimalist. My family refused to follow the same path, but a year before I left, my parents allowed me to declutter the living room. They were so grateful for it. Now, about 4 years later, they never miss the time to thank me for introducing them to declutter. They go little by little, but it has change their lives

Some advice if you want it ❤ The more comments (interactions) your video has, the more it gets pushed out. People comment more if you answer and comment back. Most youtubers answer only the comments within the first hour of the video being posted. You could try that and see if it helps. I know answering every single comment is impossible, but maybe an hour (or 30 minutes) would be beneficial to your channel. It would also get viewers to turn on notifications so that they can comment on time.

Catherine, I love all your videos regardless of content and I will definitely watch the decorating one when it comes out. I , too, have white cabinets & although there are no children in the house, my husband drips stuff on them constantly ( he’s the main cook). Lastly, it was two years ago that I decided to start hanging up everything I could - shorts, jeans, night shirts, leggings etc. I hate folding clothes too.❤️🎄🎁

Another game changer we recently implemented: 1. Buy all identical socks per person and do not put in pairs. 2. Baby clothes are so light-weight that they don't really wrinkle. So no folding required. 3. Most underwear is tight-fitting enough you also don't have to fold or roll it.

I got so much out of this particular video...I STRUGGLE HARD with not letting people have their space the way they want it. UGH! I commend u for respecting ur husband & ur children. I too feel like u do for example that sink protector, I hate ANYTHING that creates more work for me even if it's benefiting something else. My biggest tip is laying the basket side ways so it's easier to grab the clothes & not have to reach over the top. That's too bad that people don't like watching decorating for the Holidays bcuz that just puts me in the mood & brings joy to my day. And, motivates me to put my decorations up. In fact, I watched another Xmas decorating video & for the first time ever I put my decorations up the middle of Nov. Hopefully people will get on board! Ur doing great!👏🏻

I hang as much of our laundry as possible. It helps kids choose what to wear too. I especially like it for baby clothes like sleepers. I don't know why anyone wants to try fold those. My son is in kindergarten, so I am very familiar with the artwork influx. I had a dedicated basket where anything he creates or schoolwork he brings home goes straight into it. It keeps it from piling on the counter. The basket method gives me time to get to it when I feel ready (I am super sentimental). Once the basket is full, I have to address it. By then I am less attached to some of the art and make better decisions. We have a bin in our play space for any creations and I do the same method once it is full.

That is a great bit of advice. I am totally in the mood to declutter and organize and keep things nice, but its certainly a struggle to get others to do it without me running the game. LOL My youngest though as started expressing to me when her mess is overwhelming her and asks for help. My son he is a go with the flow and just lets me clean out what I wish, He's always been that way.

Girl, I was the exact same with hanging clothes! I only ever hung up work clothes and jackets, but would shove everything else in my dresser drawers. I always had a ton of room to hang more things in the closet and then it dawned on me to hang up more clothes and it’s been balance ever since lol 😆

I’ve always had stainless steel sinks. They get scratched but to me, the scratches are better than that grimy, annoying rack. So embrace the possibility of scratches and set yourself free from that bothersome rack 😉

Hi, i also hang every single item that my boys wear from the waist up. Also i hang any dress pants or jeans. It really is so much easier. I hang them straight out of the dryer & then take them to their bedrooms. I will look for your new decorating video 🎉

It was so hard finding anything. I'd take things into my room for later, just in case I needed the items - because there was no way I'd ever find them again if I didn't

Decluttering is a never ending task. You just have to look at it like laundry or dishes. You're never going to be "done", it just gets a bit easier if you keep up with it. Heck, I have a family of 2, no children, and I'm constantly decluttering.

You just sound like you wont allow him to play them eithers because they are gemes. Evem when there are some really great things that can be learned from games. It’s definitely not judgmental!! I didn’t mean to come across that way. We are not a video game family however he does play them from time to time and there is nothing wrong with that! We just don’t allow anything violent in our house. But for sure you can learn stuff from them! It’s helped him a lot with learning to be ok with losing, which is something he struggled with before

😭 im so sorry! I’ve been behind for the last bit. I get a lot of anxiety about my comment section sometimes and struggle to respond to them. I know I should have thick skin to do what I do here on KZbin but I definitely do not and tend to take every negative comment very personally.
