So is the using a heat gun instead of using a kiln? love the goblet

No the heat gun is just to dry the clay a little bit to support the weight of putting the two pieces together. Still needs to be bisque and glaze fired.

is the hair-dryer-like thing you use to dry the edges a heater of some sort from the hardware store? where did you get that?
