Trying this tomorrow. I’m 33 and just can’t get my 7 iron over 140 no matter what I do!!! Feel like I cover the ball to much and it goes much to high. Just can’t get club speed but I’m 64 so I should have plenty!!drives me nuts!!!!

It’s amazing how performing this simple drill works! I legitimately spent countless frustrating hours trying to fix my swing the past month with no success but after doing drill I can confidently say whatever I had going on that was leading to fat and sometimes even hosel rockets on the course is cured and the best part is not having to make any changes to my natural swing whatsoever! Well done man it worked like a charm!!

Great job, Alex. Love these type of videos, that are less technical and more practical. Good drills for my indoor net 👍.

Works for me Alex. I start my practice session swinging from 3 o’clock to 9 o’clock. Straightening my lead hand by pushing grip out to straighten that arm, then straightening both arms like a punch shot right after contact.. Like T. Fleetwood. I can hit my iron shots nearly as far as a full swing. It’s my way of working on solid contact to start with.. I’m also an in to out swinger, putting majority of weight on lead side at contact, with core behind the ball…

Hi Alex please clarify for me stage 1 - you throw a ball straight, got it Stage 2 - palm under to palm over. Stage 3&4 - throw getting both arms only straight past the ball. But I dont see stage 2 in these stages especially the palm over part. Stages 1 3 & 4 I can do feeling a linear thrust of the right arm. Having a hard time incorporating that linear move with a rotating forearm - plus seems like the ball would hook. Thanks, enjoying your new stage/phase lesson format ❤

I have been saying this for along time. If you emulate the throwing of the club down the target line or chopping a tree, you are looking at the perfect golf swing. Thanks for the great reminder.
@kj4757 ай бұрын
Yes, throwing the club exactly where you want it is easy with one hand. It's quite another matter when you try to do it with two hands. It's possible, but not a natural release for most people because we didn't grow up throwing things accurately with 2 hands. Good stuff, Alex. Love stage 3.

Excellent explanation and demonstration Alex of your four recommended stages in practicing the right arms role in the golf swing! I like all stages, especially the third stage, which very much reminded me of a hockey players "slap shot!" Well Done Alex!

Nice video. A question about aim point. If we are slinging the club are we aiming for the back of the ball or the inside quarter of the ball?

Hi Alex. Im an ardent follower and can’t thankyou enough. Been practicing your right hand throw drills and technique and must say that it helped tremendously esp. yesterday’s game where I played 86 in a course where my best score was 91 but averaged 96-98. Not the best but since i had not played for months, the drill helped cause i just swung a bit and just focused on half swings but throw. I just have a question, while it was excellent for my driver and iron/wedges…how do I adjust the right hand throw for hybrids and wood? I keep getting left to right shots . Thanks

I had a real 'throw the golf club experience' when I did my best Happy Gilmore club release and watched as my club took off and lodged itself into the top of a large spruce tree. You'd be surprised how much energy that club has when you actually release it.

Question - 80 yr old neighbor - played lots of golf - still hits his driver 180 to 200 carry , but first half of carry straight as an arrow - then drifts . Inconsistent drift distance is lowering his scores and confidence . We’ve tweaked this and that but he has a long time routine and habit. Any suggestions?

Lag, hold the angle, destroys golf swings, you can tell you've been with Pete Cowen, similar to his drills

But I don't see the palm under and palm over move that he demonstrated in the drill happening in the actual swing. If it is happening, it's happening very late in the swing. If we take Tigers swing as an example, he has a quick palm over happening right after contact
