My t150 is ok as an entry wheel but I don't think going from t150 to t248 with same hybrid system, however upgraded would be smart. The t150 gear/belt system is noisy and irritating to me. If you don't have any wheel then the t248 seems better than the Logitech for similar price but I think a better and more prudent upgrade would be to save for the fanatec PS5 DD pro when available for around double the price of the Thrustmaster t248.
@hompnomp85533 жыл бұрын
Tbh I think if you wanted to upgrade from the T150 (I also own that one) then I'd suggest to take the extra step and go for the T300, or as someone else already suggested go for a Fanatec wheel. While this definitely looks like an upgrade to the T150 / T3PA combo, it's still a lot of plastic feeling, and I'm also not too sure about how well that soft rubber around the steering wheel is going to hold up in the long run. €349 is about the same price as a T300RS, which probably still has the better FFB of the two.

The shifters being magnetic is awesome, the screen is ripping of fanatec for sure but it's a good sign that more advanced software is coming to make use of it, which ofcourse will be what the DD needs to shine. The problem is it looks terrible, they need to use better materials, why not use leather instead of plastic and rubber, its like they want to make the g29 stay relevant, wrap this puppy in leather and the g29 is finished, but like this it looks very very cheap... And priced soooo close to a csl DD aswell I don't care if it has a wheel and pedals when the wheel and pedals look that cheap it simply won't matter that price is far too much. It's like thrustmaster knew the price would be too much so they tried to pre warn us before hand with a statement saying their prices are going up lol its like... prepare yourself, we are about to give you a belt and cog driven wheel for nearly the price of a DD wheelbase. Thats already 630€ + maybe 30€ table clamp and + shipping... thats almost double the price of this thrustmaster.... But like i said, i get your point. For 350€ you get such a cheap looking wheel. someone who is willing to spend that amount of money for a racing wheel, is better off with spending the extra money and get a CSL DD. but thats why the CSL DD is absolutely crushing the mid range market. i think their slogan (the new standarDD) is totally fitting

@@evo6259 yeh no doubt the csl is going to cost more in the end for sure... this isnt suppose to compete with that no doubt but coming in so close to the csl DD... in fact its a bit more than the csl DD and having that nasty plastic wheel is just not a good look, all they needed to do was go the logitech g29 route and throw some leather on the rim and its job done, knock the price down 50-100 and they are on to a winner it would be awesome.
@escalator97343 жыл бұрын
@@jinx20001 It is too expensive I agree, but comparing it to the csl shouldn't even be a consideration. That 350€ looks interesting, but it's "fake". Real price is 550€, and even then, there's no pedals. Both companies are good at being greedy fucks, but fanatec is better at marketing. There's a reason they promote just a wheel base instead of a realistic base + rim kit.
@jinx200013 жыл бұрын
@@escalator9734 i agree, although we will see thrustmaster promote just the base aswell when they release the DD, thats pretty common practice with DD bases, thrustmasters recent press release also indicates that they will be releasing the DD as a base alone.
@escalator97343 жыл бұрын
@@jinx20001 yes they probably will do that too, as a marketing thing to compete with fanatec. Hopefully they will also do some base+rim promotion like the ts-pc and it's gt3 style rim. (on a sidenote, rims from every manufacturer are so damn overpriced, it's almost as crazy as 1200€ rubber load cell pedals) I'm expecting a hefty price though; my t300 frustration will not be over soon

Grazie mille

Hey Viper! (or someone else in this precious sim-racing community) Is this product a good step-up in my racing rig? I currently have a G29 and I have had it for 2 years. I play a lot and I prefer F1-LMP1-GT3 sims/simcades rather than Rally ones. I'm not a beginner anymore and I was looking for the Fanatec CSL Elite but idk, this seems like a very nice product and A LOT cheaper. I hope you see my comment bro! Love your videos. I always drink a beer while watching Car Roulettes.

It depends on your budget. For 100€/$ more than the T248, you have the T300 Alcantara Edition. Think about It... 🤔

Nice review but I'm confused now. Shall I get t248 ot for the exact same price get t150 + tlcm pedals? What do you guys think?
@Cnupoc3 жыл бұрын
i got the T150 and TLCM pedals and they're working very good. Im enjoying the T150 a lot.The T150 has a hybrid drive sysem, both belt & gear FF drives with a solid metal plate. Provides good FF strength and precision for me. I would suggest first watching a break down of the T248 on SIM RACING GARAGE channel, because the insides of the T248 are important. kzbin.info/www/bejne/q6fcn3qulNWaopo&ab_channel=SimRacingGarage

It depends on what you want from your setup. The T-LCM pedals are definitely a no-brainer, but choosing between the T150 & T248 is more difficult. Do you want to have aftermarket mods for your wheelbase & good support in games? Go for T150. Do you want something new & clean as well as more powerful that will be more future-proof? Go for the T248

I can find absolutely nothing on this wheel. Is it a hybrid drive like T150 or belt driven like T300? Do you think T248 is better than T300 when mounting on a small folding desk? p.s. my chair will start to flip if I brake and step the clutch on my G27 pedal, so the pedal weight is also one of my consideration

@Draecko3 жыл бұрын
Hey Brian, I suggest you start by making your chair more solid first, that will make your life much better than a new wheel. The G27 is still pretty good if it's not broken or worn out. You can try furniture coasters for example or try to tie down your chair with rope like me. Looks pretty ghetto, but works almost as good as a rig. Or maybe look for a Playseat Challenge if you have a little money.

Thanks for the review. I watched this a month ago and then bought one after watching this. If I may ask a question. When turning the wheel, I noticed that you can feel tiny vibrations, as if there are tiny wheels inside. Turns a cog and then stops. Each one seems to be 1 degree when turning (3 mm) So moving from left to right, it vibrates by almost grinding on the cogs, does any ones else have a similar experance with it. It is my first wheel, so was noy sure what to expect. Thanks

Great Video...! 3 things though. Is the Wheel unable to be changed? That would give it a big contra. How does it perform compared to T300 RS GT? Could the steering correction (bad for Rally) be fixed by a software update or is it a hardware issue?

It is just way too expensive if Thrustmaster Series comes to Malaysia as the vendors increase price as they like and Thrustmaster Official does not even control the stock properly...
