Thanks Chris. This couldn't be a more timely review. I'm a desk bound racer and looking to invest in a new h shifter and handbrake set up. This looks spot on - especially since my IKEA desk has a very thick worktop. The whole kit and mounting system looks like a winner. Fantastic video as usual, and I'm glad your missus still tolerates you.

I have the fanatec shifter and it's INSANE how well it feels... It feels perfect in sequential mode and better than any car I've driven so far in H-pattern mode (granted, I haven't driven any real nice cars so far). It's all metal construction and is one heavy piece of gear that can really take a beating. Just know that you have to havea sturdy rig (or desk with the table clamp, which works pretty well) in order to put it to good use...

I have the + edition, console compatible with the simhub. Freakin great product, sparco quality.. The seq mode could be better though, more force and more feeling

How long did it take to ship you simhub? Amazon says 1-3 months...

@@knightnight0237 yeah, getting my hands on a simhub was a pain in the ass.. Only amazon usa sells them, when i ordered one they were out of stock, waited a month till they got them, ordered two, 3 weeks pass and the shipment is lost. A dude called larry from amazon customer service came to the rescue, got it in 7 days.. Oh yeah, thrustmaster support was not of any help, they knew nothing about stock numbers, supply dates, eu availability, zero..

@@knightnight0237 probably best to 1st contact them through their site and they will come in contact with you, pretty fast in my case. Not sure what could be the hold up being you already made the purchase, maybe they had an issue with stock numbers, could be the country where u are from, etc. Comtact them definetly. And in the meanwhile update each and every component of your setup, wheel, hshifter, handbrake, also the simhub when u get it.. What simracing games do u play, pc and console, just console..

Is it normal for pushing forward on the shifter to bring you down a gear? I always figured moving the shifter forward would bring you up a gear not down one. It feels confusing to me.

I know what you mean about plastic use, but i must say it gets a bad rap imo. im a CNC machinist an programmer by trade but we must remember todays fiberglass reinforced resins are not our grandfathers plastics. Just like real street cars polypropylene a thermo polymer part, are engineered meticulously an makes sense most of the time per strength, weight and mass prod cost. Thrustmaster makes some of very robust cost effective shifters they take incredible abuse, but like anything it's only as strong as the weakest linkage. lol cheers mate

still using that shitty DN cable that breaks without doing anything to it...same story with the th8a shifter. had enough of thrustmaster and there shady DIN cable. YES THRUSTMASTER know about the problem but cant be bothered to sort it as they would rather charge you £30 for a replacement cable
