40:29 "Just because I had been trashed, it doesn't mean I've lost my value". How is the experience of slavery any different from the conditions of today that produce so-called thugs? That adversity can build character, should not be rocket science or a revelation. IMO, it is more an issue of ignorance (ignoring what we know). Tupac and others are celebrated for saying for the most part the obvious, but they also did/do not act on what they knew/know. We still are not speaking truthfully enough today in too many instances. The comparison between Black people and Jewish people, in terms of watching films of their history, is a false equivalent. The Jews were never psychologically damaged, as we were, in terms of feeling inferior. To the contrary, they were targeted because of their success in German society. They very well probably produced most of the films about the holocaust, and so have had control over the content of them. We have not, until recently, had the power to do that. We can not afford to play with the power of imagery. I don't know what the Christian Church's position on psychology is, but in secular society there is increasing talk about trauma, even inherited trauma. I don't know if I buy into it, to the degree that some have projected it to be - life itself is traumatic, but many do take this notion of inherited trauma seriously. If inherited trauma is real, how much damage does, if you will CTSD - continuous or constant stress disorder do? What I do believe is, that I understand the power of repetition, as in garbage in garbage out, and peer pressure. The Church has lost much of its influence on society, especially the youth, because of the powerful influence of pop-culture. Modern culture in general, in the western world, is dominated today by pop-culture. It has its roots in the industrial revolution. I understand the Church seeing this as a necessary battleground to enter and wage war, but it must not allow itself to be seduced by pop-culture. This is coming from a non-believer, who believes in being objective.

30:30 God may have invented good, but did man invent God? A philosopher said, "if God did not exist, it would be necessary to create him". Or is it more likely that man created the word of word? If Christ is God how can he be an example unto mankind? Humans have the excuse - how can you God, expect me, a mere mortal, to live up to the standards of a God? In the first place, how can something that is eternal be a sacrifice? It seems to me, something can only be an example or a standard for something equal to it, or has the same potential. Either we and Christ are God or Christ was a mortal just as we are.
