This is a review of the Thule Sapling Child Carrier- this carrier was sent so I could test it out. It is designed to hold your child along with a decent amount of gear. It does have additional storage that can be added but isn't required. I know a few were frustrated that it wasn't included as the price tag is already high, and honestly, it would be nice if it was. Even though it's not a requirement to have, including everything would be nice- especially since it is over $400 for the carrier alone.
It does have one of the highest price points, but if finding the absolute best seat for your child is a requirement, this is definitely it. Finding one gently used would be an option for those who don't have the budget. And, there are some other structured hiking carriers that also work well and use stirrups to keep your child a bit more comfy. It isn't quite the same, but most people aren't using a hiking carrier day in and out, so the potential for hip development issues are significantly lower. It's also not designed to be use until baby can sit unassisted, which further lowers any potential risk.
I will be getting some reviews on others up as well! I currently have the ClevrPlus, Osprey Poco Plus and Kelty to review.

Thank you for a great video review. I purchased the Thule. Do you have any suggestions for getting a comfortable fit? I keep feeling like I want the pack higher and the waist band higher too. Im 5ft 6inches and have the setting on xs, but the pack still seems low.

Is the head rest an issue in any way? From the looks of it, it looks like the child would hit their head on that plastic/metal part. I've had that issue with the current one i have, where there's not much padding behind their head.

I have the same question, it seems like the cushion is lower than the top tube on the back and the Kid will bump its head against the Hard surface, no?

Would you recommend this for a two-2.5 year old?

Thank you for your review. I’m interested in buying this or the Deuter Kid Comfort Pro. Could you put the bigger kids in the Thule so we can see how they fit? In all the stock pictures I found it looks like the bigger kids are all way up high with their head „sticking out“ completely unsupported. The Deuter just seems to support bigger kids a bit better because it has a higher back panel and generally more patting everywhere. The only thing that I’m concerned with is the kids seating position in the Deuter, as it’s not that healthy. I love that about the Thule. What are your thoughts on that?

From my experience this supports big kids far better and I don't believe the deuter came up much more on their backs even as younger toddlers. We had the Deuter Kid Comfort and ended up donating it for a few reasons, but one being that the seat didn't support them well and they didn't want to use the stirrups. I actually felt nervous with them in it because they frequently slid to the side and it felt like they'd fall out of the pack (even though they wouldn't have.) It also made it much harder on my back. I've got a short clip of my 3yo (same size as my almost 5yo) in this over on Instagram in my stories highlights under reviews and here: kzbin.infoHIV8mJ6IMUo?feature=share3 I'll try and find a video from about a year ago with the same daughter in the Deuter. I know I have one! She was quite a bit smaller, but it might give you a better idea.

Here is that other video from my daughter back when she was 2: kzbin.infoZJZ_BSxU_28?feature=share3 The seat was lowered as much as possible on the Dueter and she was quite a bit smaller. I don't think it would be that significant of a difference if I sat them next to each other for height, but I could be wrong. Hopefully I'll get a chance to test it out again so I can give as better comparison!

How does this pack compare with the osprey poco? I want to buy one that'll work for me (5'4") and my husband (5'10")

I need to get a comparison video of those two up! But, both are great packs. I find there is a little more adjustability and comfort overall with the Thule, but the Osprey is slightly more breathable and lightweight. Both myself and my husband found the Thule was a bit more comfortable to wear. I find that the Osprey can potentially dig into your lower back a bit more. It has less padding, which does make it more breathable, but also takes away from some of the comfort.
