Thanks for your explanation of this method. The instructions that came with the rack didn’t say anything about how to adjust the strap.

I was shopping for "extra long" straps to accommodate my wife's fat tire bike and came across this video to see how to install the straps....well what do you know, 3 minutes later and we now have "extra long" straps! And I saved some money!!!!! Thanks.

I like the way this part is made because even if the strap broke, it appears that a person could route their own strap through and wrap it around to a buckle. Like a good backpack strap or something.

Thank you this saved me from panic buying something different. One question I had was around the front cradle. When I have my fat tire bike on the rack, I can barely get the front arm over the wheel. I either have to press the tire or take some air out. Anything that can be done for this?

Thank you for watching the video and a nice comment. In terms of the front wheel, there is no further adjustability that I am aware of.

Just assembled my rack, but I can't get the rear tire cradles over the cross bars. There are raised areas inside the cradle that make it almost impossible to get them on the bar without pounding them on and there is no way they will slide easily to adjust to wheel placement. How do I install the cradles?

Did you remove the small Phillips head screw (stop) on the bottom side of the main bar?
@bobgamble7336 Жыл бұрын
@@DIYManiacJohnP Didn't see any screw on the bottom of the bar. I pounded the strap brackets on with a rubber mallet and they seem to slide ok if I wiggle them. There is now a screw on the bottom to hold the end piece on and keep the brackets from coming off. Thanks for the quick reply!!
