We got this for 1$ at a dollar store back in the mid 90s and me and my siblings watched this more than any Disney movie we had. We still quote this and bring up the songs. Funny enough “the bullets” who made all these songs did other cheap anime movies that we also enjoyed like Serendippity: the pink dragon 😂😂 we were so lame haha

I had this movie on DVD and would ALWAYS watch it on my portable DVD player on long car trips/airplane flights, and I could always vividly remember what the characters looked and sounded like (including the more awkwardly-dubbed-over parts, or times the voices/sounds were cut, looped, or reused.) I could also remember the chorus of the main theme, but not the name of the actual movie. There are COUNTLESS movie adaptations of the Thumbelina story, many of which I also grew up loving. So imagine how hard it was to find THIS specific adaptation lol! I finally searched the lyrics to the themesong and finally found the name, and here we are. THANK YOU for bringing back a slice of childhood nostalgia!!!

Fun fact: This didn't start out as actual movie, It started out as a part by part tv anime series that ran for a total of 26 episodes on TV tokyo. In 1993 it was made into a movie on VHS and in 2006 was distrubted by dvd. You the lucky viewer get skip the waiting game and watch it like a movie on KZbin. Shame on you. (I'm joking).

Back when Blockbuster was a thing, they jebaited me with this film lol I originally wanted to rent Don Bluth's Thumbelina movie; the cover was there so I thought I got it, but when I put it in the VCR, I got an anime version of Thumbelina (which at the time, I didn't know what anime was). I was pissed off at first, but I gave the movie a shot; however, I would get to a certain point then stop watching it. After so many years, I finally watched the whole thing. ^^ It does bring back nostalgic memories.

It was only after a recent conversation with my family that I was able to confirm that this movie did indeed exist and I'm glad it did.
