I wonder why he hasn't been heard more often. I am pretty sure he could have shut the door of many so called 'intellectual' classical artistes who are high on pretext and poor on delivery. I am sure there arent too many people in and around who can appreciate the intellect in his singing prowess. Extremely soulful and a thoughtful assimilation of Bade-Ghulam Ali Khan, Munawar ali Khan, Salamat Ali Khan and Girija Devi's styles.

As I see, good singing of light classical music like THUMRI, DADRA, KAJRI, CHAITI etc. requires adherence to the RAAG (sur) of the item as well as to the spirit and the literature (poetry) to reach the soul of the singer to be transmitted the same of his audience. Sweetness of the singer's voice is another plus point in consideration. Achatya Chakrabarty is, by GOD's grace, is endowed withh all the attributes needed to please his audience. May he live long and sing like this!
