It's one thing to adapt a song's lyrics to better suit your singing style but when your cover is in direct opposition to the original in meaning - in addition to altering tone, harmony, sound/feel, lyrics, tempo, etc - you're straying past the margins of cover concept. Just do an original song and sample.

Stevie would adore this....the lead vocal is like the lyric, it rings like a bell, the guitar solo shits on Lindsey's and let's the vocal take centre stage (unlike Lindsey's..), the only thing is the reggae beat and the backup harmony vocals aren't up to the quality of this lead singer....he is amazing!!!! Also the keyboards are slightly ahead of the beat
