Great video! I bet once it's broken in it will hang with the crossfire. I had an '09 D&D and it was a beast! 196hp. I'm not confident it will keep up with the boosted cat's though.

If lake top end is what you want that’s just gearing and lowering it. The boosts aren’t geared to go more than 115 mph or so gps. Same gearing as an NA 850. The old iron is built a lot better for top speed. Put a tune on the boost and it would embarrass that crossfire in a 1/4 mile drag race . Looked like he beat him for 1000 feet already stock in break in and ethanol mode lol

I think polaris releasing the boost as a trail sled will really push other manufacturers to improve their existing powerplants. Any way you look at it, its a good thing for the sport.... I can even say that the boost looks like a blast coming from a tuned 998 rider myself.

@@UpstateBlake a sidewinder or thunder cat is very fun 0-70 with a tune. That’s the diff in the two once a guy starts modding the two strike boost it probably will go boom. A four stroke has more room for mods do to it’s design. But time will tell I could be wrong

I agree but instead of boosting two strokes that I think a person will be limited to what can be done with them with mods I would rather the manufacturers start building triple two stokes again. That’s were the real power was at back in the day

Ethanol mode dynos a full 10 hp less per dynotech. It’s basically 87 octane mode. Crap gas protection mode . You don’t need non ethanol gas to run non ethanol mode. 93 octane with 10% ethanol actually makes the most power that can be used just fine in non ethanol mode. 91 with 10% can be used also
