I also noticed carowinds Is advertising Buy One get one free Thing I know Combo passes are Coming Like dollywood nothing was structurally wrong with It

Hats off to the first coaster i ever got on at carowinds and the meanest at the time i got on it b4 the took it down in 2015 bittersweet to me. T road was not the smoothest coaster but growing up in the 80's we wasnt either no guts no glory kids hell being a kid in the Nhood was rough so we didnt care anyway i do wish they would have just made it a metal coaster than taking it down. I'm from charlotte and seen carowinds (cedarfair version) do alot of silly things. 1 is this they have Peanuts gangs there now problem with that is kids dont know who that is now. Its not there history they need Kungfu panda or spongebob or something that is going on now to identify with there youth. We grew up with MJ but we seen lebron also they just seen lebron and thats there great an so on an so on.

Old comment but I'mma reply anyway. He reason everyone is freaking out is because for me and many other people this coaster hold sentimental value. This was the first ever roller coaster I rode and now I'm a coaster fanatic. It was sad to see it go for a water park expansion. Also more and more racing coasters like T.R. are getting torn down and replaced with super coasters. It's just sad to see it go.

​@@davemustaine6694tons of them are getting torn down. He is right. Alot of these were built in the 70s if not older so they are reaching EOL and getting replaced. Its also hard finding parts to repair the current ones as lot of the companies that built them has since gone bankrupt decades ago. While some of them are getting a hybrid design like how RMC does them. Its still a memory to people. This was the only coaster ive ridden in my life that had air time for days and ive ridden fury and intimidator and lighting rod. All of those considered to be big on air time. But they just cant beat thunder road. At least for right now Troad is my all time favorite. Im glad i went there in march 2015 when it was still open
