He have a few interviews online and give a really good explanation of the concept of a fighter jet. To be a pilot like this, I guest, you have to have a great knowledge of aerodynamic, general physics and knowledge of rackets capability.....and maybe a ton other things. Great pilot and look like a nice person.

Not really a fan it's kinda flattened. I think the best looking Russian plane is the MIG29A. It doesn't have that bump on her back that later models had and it also lacks that weird looking thing between the engines. The 57 is not an ugly plane by any means but I wouldn't call it pretty. Beauty is ofc subjective. Russians build nice looking planes though. ( and some really ugly ones lol)

I watched a lot of negative videos about this flight, but no one answered me what exactly they don't like. The task for designing an aircraft is given based on the doctrine (defensive, offensive. Russia has defensive). Many of the specified characteristics follow from this. Then, different countries have different philosophies, different ideas about what a modern air battle is. The US decided that the key to victory is stealth. The Russians agree with this in part, since they have good radars that can see a stealth aircraft. For the Russians, maneuverable air combat is part of their philosophy about modern air combat. Stealth implies sacrificing important flight characteristics for the sake of stealth. The Russians do not want to sacrifice them, so stealth technologies are used here without fanaticism, mainly from the front hemisphere, while maintaining all the important flight characteristics.
@aerius30
@aerius30 15 күн бұрын
Exactly! The US made stealth a priority since they had to deal with tons of powerful & sophisticated ground based radars & air defence systems on the Russian side, they need as much stealth as possible to successfully penetrate deep into Russian air space and accomplish their missions. The Russians chose a different path for several reasons: NATO doesn't have nearly as many ground based radars & AD systems so there's more gaps to slip through, and more importantly, their job is to defend against NATO fighters while mostly staying within range of their own AD systems. They're not trying to sneak a jet into Poland to launch missiles at Germany, their main job is staying somewhere near their own AD systems to defend them from enemy planes. So while the F-22 and Su-57 are both 5th gen stealth fighters, they're not made to do the same thing. Comparing them against each other without going into and understanding all the systems & doctrines behind them leaves you with a very incomplete picture. Hopefully, we never have to find out who has the better system & doctrine for real.

Yes, the Su-57 has more opportunities to create invisibility. Its invisibility lies in electronic warfare, not in geometry and expensive coating, which is ineffective because the F-22 or F-35 lose maneuverability or payload because of this. There is even information that the Su-57 is capable of creating illusions for radars, cloning itself, or simply changing coordinates in space.

One of the highlights that I remember, is that there was an interview with Bogdan that said that he had experienced strobing like effect during those prolonged 9Gs maneuvers at that airshow. Everyone commenting on how this guy is fair and balanced keep forgetting that when the odds are you might one day be facing off against these things (he is after all probably in the top 5% of US fighter pilots) there's no room for bravado and bs. That stuff is reserved for keyboard warriors (or perhaps much lesser pilots) who are never likely to find themselves looking an SU57 in the eye and having to survive the encounter. I'm gonna go out on a limb and hazard a guess that, considering he might very possibly get put in a situation where his life will depend on it, all he really wants to know is how he can beat this thing. And with that in mind I'm pretty sure he's acutely aware that no amount of chest puffing is in any way gonna bring him closer to ensuring that after the encounter he's the one who gets to hug his loved ones again...

If it's a demo only and thus a lot of equipment hasn't been installed, I think it's justified to wonder whether an actual production plane will have similar performance. After all, Russia has a history of being - ahem - "optimistic" about their hardware's performance. 2:17 It's my understanding that the exhausts aren't actually free to move in 3 dimensions, they're moving along only one axis which is almost but not quite vertical. So when the thrust is vectored up or down, it also introduces a horizontal component but it's not "real" 3D-vectoring like the X-31, F-18 HARV or F-16 MATV. 3:17 Won't having that many control surfaces moving also make it more difficult to manage the radar signature?

Всегда можно переехать в Россию, получить гражданство, пойти служить в ВВС и тогда уже полетать на СУ-57 ;-) Спасибо за объективный обзор. Мне доводилось видеть F-22 and F-35 at Sun&Fun in 2021/2023 respectively and you know what? Raptor can make some maneuvers but F-35.....

The T50 did not originate from training. It is a derivative of the Russian word Triangular. Sukhoi has had an internal designation for developments since the 1950s. T-planes with triangular and trapezoidal wings, and C - planes with swept wings. That is, T10 is the factory designation of the Su-27 family. T8 is the factory designation of the Su-25. T6 is the factory designation of the Su-24. Where the first letter is the index, the next digit is the development number. However, if we are talking about the Su-24, then it should have been called C6, since the aircraft is equipped with a variable sweep wing, but it turned out that it was originally designed with a trapezoidal wing, which is why it was named T6.

They have a new square flat nozzle now for the SU57 for mainly stealth so that with a new more powerful radar than the f35 and ceramic paint its getting closer to the F35.The Su57 was supposed to be a joint exercise with India but India pulled out because they wasn't happy with some issues with it .But now those issue seem to be ironed out India are back in it they have been offered for it to be 100% made in India and with full tech cheaper than the Rafale and i thin India can also sell them

Those are actually the old engines as Saturn hasn't got the new ones working quite yet. It's part of the problem why other countries aren't buying yet. The entire plane being the wing and so many adjustable surfaces really allows the computer flight system to go where the pilot tells it to fast.

Impressive machine! Might give the f22 a run for it's money in a close range dogfight. Think the f22 has more sophisticated stealth and radar, but that's just an assumption from the low tolerances I've seen on the su57

USA will not allow anyone to photograph F-22 avionics or even cockpit. Why you think that Russia would show Su-57 capabilities instead using these old T-50 prototypes that don't have final specs? Their serial production has started years back at accelerated rate, and now they have as well first export client buying Su-57's. We don't even know how much more or less (!) agile the serial production version is. As it can very well be 5-15% less than this, or better. We don't even know are these maneyvers in its limitations, or is there some play to push airframe even further in performance. As in every airshow analysts are there with stop watches and cameras, to later analyse everything. Do that on every public airshow to get the variation and changes in performance to find what could be limits, so that they can design patterns and tactics against it. The whole old "one circle Vs two circle" is basic, as you have lot of things you train for pilots to do and try to get upperhand. Lot of things based how pilots are trained, so there can be weakness they don't think, or that you can trick them to do etc. It is like chess, that evolves to poker and mixed with chicken.... Constantly played again and again with next maneuver like tic tac toe, until other does the fatal mistake and couldn't keep obvious tie situation.

Not all of us are your enemy. Many of us know the US Gov provoked this war, and we're both embarrassed and sorry for our Government's outrageous conduct. While our Ukraine project was worse, we've been doing this playbook since the 1990s, and is how we got many former Warsaw Bloc countries to "join" NATO. We used the very campaigns we call "interference" when others do it to us. Those politicians we couldn't bribe ... we pumped money into their competitor that was beyond what their opponent could compete with. We hijacked the judicial branch, and as we did with Yeltsin, ran campaigns to secure the presidency. Just as we're doing now in Hungary bc Orban isn't allowing mass migration. As we did against Milosevic in Serbia, across Arab countries in the "Arab Spring." And then, influenced media organizations to manufacture consent with an unwitting public. A public that wasn't familiar enough with our tactics to psychologically guard against our influence and insane amount of money pumped in. We did it in Ukraine in 2004 and finally the 2014 coup. We tried in Belarus _many times,_ and are engaged in outrageous malfeasance right now in Georgia. WE caused the Russo-Georgian war of 2008 ... yet, act like Russia was the aggressor. While the majority of Americans opposed to the Ukraine war do so on practical grounds like: "Ukraine isn't a democracy," and "We shouldn't be wasting the money," Russia has the moral high ground. Because the war isn't a byproduct of US policy, but the goal of it. As Olexiy Arestovich admitted in his 2019 interview. But the US Gov has tight control over social media and the "news" in the US, making it all but impossible to hear arguments against the "official narrative." Still, ~20% of us who are opposed actually understand what I've said, and [that] is a huge step in the right direction. To clarify (and contrary to what some may think) I'm a patriot who loves the principles upon which the US is founded. In fact, I served in the US Marine Corps. I'm not some DEI / BLM / Antifacrat nut. I'm just able to see things from both sides perspective. We would NEVER tolerate what we did in Ukraine being done to us. And we have no moral high ground to stand on; to include the mirotvorets list. 🤢🤮We tacitly allowed the assassination of Daria Dugina and possibly the ISIS attack. I am ashamed and sorry. And hope we one day have the clarity as a nation to apologize and ask forgiveness. Russia nothing but tried to support us ... with Putin being the first person to contact us after 9-11, and allowing us the use of their base from which to begin operations in Afghanistan. To our everlasting shame. 😢 УРААА ❤🇷🇺

@trumanhw Very well said, mate! It's always refreshing to see when somebody else gets it and understands everything in detail, as to what's gone on. The majority of people listen to, and parrot what the MSM or Western Politicians have said. Nothing worse than ignorant dumb people repeating the Western MSM narrative, while having the arrogance and confidence that they're well-informed. Lol, it drives me nuts. But, even worse are those who refuse to look at/accept true facts & evidence, and don't really care about the truth. Instead they just believe "We" westerners, are morally superior, no matter what. And everybody else is beneath them. I'm a 41 Yr-old Englishman, and the behaviour of my own Country & NATO has truly sickened me mate. I also match your sentiments with the whole DEI. / BLM. lunacy , too lol. Merry Christmas to you brother. God bless you and your family, and all the best (for all of us) in the New Year 🙏

Can as well be "Tailpipe" or "Dragger" or something... But Russians don't use call signs. They use mission flight numbers of airframe. So you have "357" or "281" and like in use. The whole air defense network has the same numbers, so that people know who they are talking about.
