This generation is incredibly weird in terms of the shift away from mons having immense defensive utility or multi-leveled gimmick synergy, because honestly I saw both of those as actually useful parts of the game that they’ve been building up for years, only for the devs to suddenly gut them by nerfing recovery and the defensive utility of a lot of mons going into a meta with no Weather Ball and utterly gutted Terrains

For galarian Zapdos, banded bird 2hkoes gholdengo anyway with hazards, and throat chop wouldn't ohko dengo anyway. It's really not losing anything by not having it. The banded set can really blow up a lot of squads, a kill opportunity almost every time the enemy pivots to lando. It gets cleanly 2hkoed by CC with defiant, so you barely even have to pick moves. Galar zaphas done me well

I think the problem with that Scope Deci was that it was trying to do too many things. You can't check threats with Roosting and then break with Scope. It's luck dependent too which is tough. I think a Banded set or Defog Knock Off Roost set could really become decent down the line when the meta slows down and broken threats become banned. Band Triple Arrows is very nice. It's so ridiculously spammable with Scarppy and Defense drops allows you to just break through even resists. Knock Off and Rock Tomb round out the set. Defog Knock has merit because it not only beats rock setters like Lando Tusk Ting Lu 1v1 but it can also defeat the defog blocker Gholden. Definitely not the best mon but I think Defog in particular could find itself on teams that want a consistent remover and answer to Ground types.

i've been toying with the idea of using H-Electrode as an anti-lead with Covert Cloak. Chloroblast cutting your health in half makes it a lot easier to proc Aftermath even on neutral hits, and it one shots H-Samurott and does a lot to Kleavor while preventing setting their stuff

Volcanion is slept on, it has 120 base defense and it learns body press in addition to a great offensive AND defensive typing and steam eruption and will-o-wisp and haze and all that stuff. Its a perfect assault vest user but its rocks weak so its forced to wear shoes which is probably the biggest problem. But nobody uses rocks anymore its just ceaseless edge (which you can take a fat shit on with water absorb and suprise body press / will-o-wisp) It can also kind of fend off volcarona because it can hit it before and after the tera grass while 4x resisting fiery dance and it only has giga drain.
